High Oxygen Bakki Shower Upgrade for the Filtreau 50/65 Inline System

The Filtreau Excellent Combi Drum 50/65 Inline Trickle Add On is a high performance biological shower module designed exclusively for the Filtreau Excellent Combi Drum 50/65 Inline. It is not a standalone filter. Instead, it integrates directly with the inline combi system to increase oxygenation and expand biological capacity in demanding koi pond installations.

This upgrade converts the standard 50/65 Inline combi into a high oxygen filtration system capable of supporting heavier stocking levels and increased feeding regimes. As a result, it improves long term water clarity and overall pond stability.

Because of its cascading tray configuration, many pond keepers also refer to this type of module as a Bakki shower.

High Oxygen Trickle Filtration for Inline Systems

As water exits the drum stage of the 50/65 Inline, it passes over the shower trays and cascades down through the media. During this process, the water makes maximum contact with air. Consequently, dissolved oxygen levels increase significantly throughout the pond system.

Higher oxygen levels directly benefit koi health. Fish remain more active, show improved growth and develop stronger immune response. In addition, beneficial nitrifying bacteria function more efficiently in oxygen rich conditions. Therefore, ammonia and nitrite conversion becomes faster and more stable.

For inline installations where footprint width is restricted, this vertical shower format offers excellent performance without expanding system width.

Expanded Biological Capacity

The 50/65 Inline trickle add on increases the total biological surface area available within the system. This allows filtration performance to scale with fish stocking density and feeding intensity.

Media is supplied separately. However, we strongly recommend high performance shower media such as Far Infrared media to maximise nitrification efficiency and gas exchange.

Because water flows over the media rather than through a submerged chamber, gas exchange improves significantly. As a result, ammonia breakdown efficiency increases and unwanted dissolved gases dissipate more effectively.
