Shower filtration for the Excellent 50/65 inline system
The FS877 is the matched trickle stage for the 50/65 Inline XL Gravity and pump-fed Inline XL. Its long, narrow shower body complements that filter family and provides additional space for biological treatment with suitable media.
The module measures 1,180 × 320 × 808 mm and carries reference WMC33ILT. It is an accessory housing, not a complete drum filter or a supply of media for the base unit’s chambers.
Avoid confusing system flow with shower flow
The maximum flow through this shower is 30,000 litres/hour, using a 110 mm feed. That is lower than either matching drum’s maximum, so the optional stage needs a controlled supply if the main circuit runs faster.
Plan a branch or bypass where necessary and keep the discharge unrestricted. A shower should add useful treatment without becoming the bottleneck that reduces the performance of the whole Inline installation.
Media and water distribution
Select appropriate shower media separately and spread the feed evenly across it. Mechanically filtered water helps keep coarse waste away from the biological surfaces. Leave open passages through the media rather than packing the module tightly and encouraging channelling.
The biological benefit develops as bacteria establish. Maintain water testing and increase feeding progressively; an added shower does not immediately make a new filter mature. Keep the top distribution section accessible so blocked passages can be cleared.

Planning the installed assembly
Account for extra height and lifting head above the base filter, along with the weight of water and wet media. Provide support independently of the inlet pipe and retain a free-flowing return route.
Consider splash, sound and winter cooling in the chosen position. The conventional 50/70 shower and XXL Inline shower serve different base models; the exact reference is a better compatibility check than a similar-looking picture.
