Add shower filtration to the Excellent 30/45 inline layout
The FS871 adds a biological shower to the 30/45 Inline L Gravity or pump-fed Inline L. It is a different module from the 30/40 Low Inline accessory, with a longer body and a larger feed connection.
The housing measures 1,180 × 320 × 805 mm and its manufacturer reference is WMC32ILT. Match that reference before ordering, particularly if the base-filter name has been shortened to simply “30/45” or “Inline” in existing records.
Additional treatment after the drum
Water that has passed through mechanical filtration is distributed over suitable shower media. This supplies another biological surface in contact with flowing water and air. The module is not a replacement for the main drum, and the new media needs time to establish before it carries a meaningful biological load.
Choose shower media separately and keep water paths open. A bed packed too tightly can encourage channelling, leaving much of the media poorly supplied. Keep the distribution area accessible for routine cleaning rather than enclosing it permanently.
A 30,000-litre/hour shower, not a full-flow drum extension
The maximum shower flow is 30,000 litres/hour through the 110 mm feed. The matching drum versions can pass more water, so use a controlled branch or bypass if the system is running above this limit. Installing an optional biological stage should not create a new hydraulic restriction.
Include the supply lift and pipe losses when checking pump duty. The module’s height also changes the overall installation, which matters beneath a roof or beside a raised pond wall.

Support and ongoing care
Support the wet module and media properly and leave a free return route. Consider splash, noise and winter cooling in an exposed location. Check water distribution periodically and clear any obstructed passages.
The 30/40 Low Inline shower and 50/65 Inline XL shower are different references. Similar naming is not sufficient evidence of a correct fit.
