A trickle shower designed for the standard Excellent 25/30

The FS859 is the model-matched trickle add-on for the standard Excellent 25/30 Gravity and 25/30 Pump Fed. It creates an additional media stage after mechanical cleaning, exposing flowing water to air as it passes over the selected shower media.

It is not the same accessory as the 25/30 Low shower. The manufacturer reference is WMC10PPT, and the body measures 660 × 320 × 882 mm. Match the base-filter reference rather than choosing from a similar-looking photograph.

An additional biological stage

A trickle filter provides more surfaces for biological colonisation when supplied with mechanically filtered water. It can be useful as the pond’s feeding demand develops, but new media still needs to mature. Do not treat an empty module or freshly added media as immediate established capacity.

Select suitable shower media and arrange it to distribute water evenly. Avoid blocked passages and tightly packed loads that encourage water to bypass most of the media. Keep the distribution section accessible so deposits can be cleared without dismantling the whole installation.

Flow and installed height

The module has a 63 mm feed and a maximum flow of 20,000 litres/hour. That is lower than the gravity-fed base drum’s maximum, so include a controlled branch or bypass if the main circulation exceeds it. The shower does not raise the base filter’s flow limit either.

Allow for the extra installed height, the wet media load and the lift the supply pump has to overcome. A shower fitted beneath a low roof may be technically in place but impossible to clean properly.

Matching the rest of the system

Keep the discharge free-running and plan for splash, sound and cooling in the chosen location. Provide proper support for the module, not just its pipe connection. For the shorter base model, see the 25/30 Low trickle add-on; for the narrow Inline version, use the 25/30 Low Inline trickle.
