Extra biological treatment above the Excellent 25/30 Low
The FS862 adds a trickle stage to the 25/30 Low Gravity or 25/30 Low Pump Fed Excellent combi. Filtered water is spread over suitable shower media to provide an additional biological surface and contact with air.
This is a model-specific accessory rather than a universal shower for every filter called 25/30. Its reference is WMC20CDT and its body measures 660 × 320 × 822 mm. Check that against the base unit before planning fixed supports.
Where the extra stage is useful
The module can help develop the biological side of a pond system without replacing the main drum. The drum should remove solids first, keeping coarse dirt out of the shower media. New media must still establish under a controlled feeding load.
Select shower media suitable for the module and arrange it with open water paths. More material is not always better if it causes water to channel through a small part of the bed. Leave the distribution section reachable for inspection and cleaning.
Flow is separate from the base-filter rating
Maximum shower flow is 20,000 litres/hour through the 63 mm feed. The gravity-fed Low base can handle a higher flow, so the optional stage may need a controlled branch rather than the whole return. It should not become a restriction added to an otherwise well-balanced system.
A shower also changes the installed height and pump duty. If the Low model was chosen because of limited headroom, measure the total arrangement and maintenance clearance before adding it.

Fitting and maintaining the module
Provide support for the housing, water and media, with a free discharge route. Consider splash and winter cooling in an exposed installation. Avoid using the supply pipe as structural support or enclosing the top so tightly that it cannot be serviced.
The standard-height 25/30 shower and Inline shower use different model references. Choose the matched part rather than relying on nominal size alone.
