Extend the Excellent 60/80 with a biological shower
The FS880 trickle module is designed for the Excellent 60/80 XL Gravity and 60/80 XL Pump Fed. It adds a shower-media stage to the larger combi system, using mechanically filtered water as its feed.
The 1,250 × 320 × 805 mm body has manufacturer reference WMC23CDT. Plan its support and service clearance with the base unit rather than treating it as an accessory that can be fitted into whatever space remains.
An independently controlled biological stage
The maximum shower flow is 30,000 litres/hour. The base filters have higher maximum throughputs, so the entire circulation should not automatically be sent through the shower. A correctly arranged branch or bypass allows the drum and the optional stage to operate within their own limits.
Include the extra height and pipe losses when checking the supply pump. Keep the outlet free-running and observe water distribution after the media has been loaded.
Selecting the media
Use suitable shower media and leave enough open space for water to pass across the whole bed. Clean water from the drum is preferable to debris-laden feed that would turn the shower into a coarse mechanical trap.
New biological surfaces need time to mature, so keep feeding and water testing under control as the stage establishes. The base combi’s Hel-X and matting arrangement is a different part of the system and should not be assumed to provide the correct shower fill.

Installation and seasonal care
Support the module and wet media securely, keep the distribution area accessible and allow for splash. In an exposed position, the additional water-to-air contact can also increase cooling, which should be considered in a winter operating plan.
For the conventional XXL base, choose the 80/100 XXL shower, not this shorter module. For a smaller 50/70 combi, compare the 50/70 matched trickle. Matching the reference avoids relying on similar product names.
