A matched shower for the Excellent 80/100 XXL inline filter
The FS886 is the trickle add-on for the 80/100 XXL Inline Gravity and XXL Inline Pump Fed. It provides an additional shower-media stage while matching the long, narrow filter family’s layout.
The body measures 1,400 Ă— 320 Ă— 808 mm and its reference is WMC34ILT. It is not interchangeable by name alone with the larger conventional XXL shower, which has a different body and flow limit.
The most important flow distinction
Maximum shower flow is 30,000 litres/hour through the 110 mm feed. The corresponding drum filters can run at much higher flows. Plan a controlled branch or bypass rather than routing the complete main circulation through the shower.
An optional biological stage should not introduce a restriction that changes the base filter’s operating level. Include feed-pipe losses, any additional lift and the free discharge route in the design.
Biological media and maturation
Supply the module with mechanically filtered water and suitable shower media. Arrange the media with open passages so water spreads across it, and keep the distribution section accessible for clearing deposits.
The media needs time to become biologically established. Continue testing ammonia and nitrite as feeding changes, and do not treat an added module as instant mature capacity. Loose media or a cartridge intended for the base combi’s internal chambers is a separate product choice.

Supporting the complete assembly
Allow for wet media weight and provide proper structural support; the feed pipe should not carry the module. Leave sufficient height and access for cleaning, especially if the base filter was chosen to fit a constrained filter room.
Consider splash, sound and winter cooling in exposed positions. Regularly check distribution and the return route so the shower remains a useful biological addition rather than a hidden blockage above the main system.
