High Oxygen Bakki Shower Upgrade for the Filtreau 25/30 Inline System

The Filtreau Excellent Combi Drum 25/30 Inline Trickle Add On is a high performance biological shower module designed exclusively for the Filtreau Excellent Combi Drum 25/30 Inline. It is not a standalone filter. Instead, it integrates directly with the inline combi system to increase oxygenation and expand biological capacity in koi pond installations.

This upgrade enhances the standard 25/30 Inline combi by introducing high oxygen trickle filtration. As a result, it supports improved water stability, better fish health and stronger biological efficiency in compact inline setups.

Because of its cascading tray configuration, many pond keepers refer to this type of unit as a Bakki shower.

High Oxygen Trickle Filtration for Compact Inline Systems

As water exits the drum stage of the 25/30 Inline, it flows over the shower trays and cascades down through the biological media. During this process, the water makes continuous contact with air. Consequently, dissolved oxygen levels increase significantly throughout the pond system.

Higher oxygen levels directly benefit koi and ornamental fish. Fish show improved vitality, better growth and stronger immune response. In addition, beneficial nitrifying bacteria perform more efficiently in oxygen rich conditions. Therefore, ammonia and nitrite conversion becomes faster and more stable.

For smaller inline systems where space is limited, this vertical shower format provides excellent biological performance without increasing footprint width.

Expanded Biological Capacity

The 25/30 Inline trickle add on increases the total biological surface area available within the system. This allows filtration capacity to scale with fish stocking levels and feeding intensity.

Media is supplied separately. However, we strongly recommend high performance shower media such as Far Infrared media to maximise nitrification efficiency and gas exchange.

Because water flows over the media rather than through a submerged chamber, gas exchange improves considerably. As a result, ammonia processing efficiency increases and unwanted dissolved gases dissipate more effectively.
