A long, narrow pump-fed combi with room for moving-bed media and Japanese matting. The 30/45 Inline L handles up to 35,000 litres an hour, combining a 500 mm drum, automatic washing and 80W UV-C.

Inline combi filtration for a pond-side pumped installation
The Excellent 30/45 Inline L Pump Fed brings drum and biological filtration into a 700 mm-wide body. At 2,254 mm long and 1,005 mm high, it suits a different space from the short, wide conventional combis or the lower 750 mm Inline models.
It is designed to receive dirty water from a pond circulation pump and return clean water by gravity. The maximum filter flow is 35,000 litres/hour. That limit is specific to the pump-fed version and should be used when planning the pump duty and return pipework.
Cleaning that keeps solids out of the media
The 120-micron screen collects suspended waste. When loading changes the water level, the controller operates the drum motor and internal wash pump. The spray bar cleans the rotating mesh and sends the removed dirt to waste.
Because that mechanical stage is ahead of the media, the biological chambers can concentrate on dissolved fish waste rather than storing coarse debris. The included 80W high-output UV-C provides green-water control alongside the drum and bio stages; none of the three makes the others unnecessary.
Configuring the media sensibly
The optional arrangement lists 200 litres of Hel-X and 4 m² of matting. A suitable external air pump must keep the moving media circulating at the chamber’s operating depth. Four fitted air bars distribute the air, but the supply pump is a separate item.
Our high-quality Japanese matting is supplied in 1.2 Ă— 1 m sheets. One or two sheets are useful for a measured addition; two give 2.4 m² before trimming, not the complete 4 m² arrangement. Keep the panels removable and leave water routes between them. Do not put fixed sheets into the part of the chamber intended for moving media.
Feed the pond conservatively while the biological media establishes and monitor ammonia and nitrite. A large new filter does not become biologically mature on the day it is connected, even if the drum and UV are working immediately.
A return route that suits the filter
Avoid planning the base height without considering where the water will go afterwards. The return must fall to the pond with enough capacity for the installed flow. Long narrow sections, unnecessary bends and high points can cause water to back up in an otherwise correctly sized system.
Compare the 30/40 Low Inline Pump Fed if body height is the limiting factor, or the 50/65 Inline XL Pump Fed for the larger drum and connection layout. The gravity-fed Inline L belongs before the circulation pump instead.

Support and maintenance
Support the complete base, keep the waste pipe accessible and leave room to service the UV safely. If using the 30/45 Inline trickle, plan its flow separately from the main drum limit. The Excellent manual covers safe isolation, cleaning and component access; build the surrounding installation so those jobs stay straightforward.
