A larger drum in a low, narrow pump-fed combi. The 30/40 Low Inline provides automatic cleaning, biological chambers and 80W UV-C, with a 640 mm-wide body and maximum flow of 30,000 litres an hour.

Low-height inline filtration for a pump-fed installation
The Excellent 30/40 Low Inline Pump Fed suits a pond-side filter installation where a long, narrow body is easier to accommodate than a wide combi. Its 500 mm drum offers a larger mechanical stage than the 25/30 Inline while keeping the same 750 mm body height.
The housing measures 1,935 Ă— 640 mm in plan. Allow additional space for connections and servicing: the body dimensions do not include a working aisle, the sweep of pipe bends or the space needed to withdraw the UV components.
How the pump-fed arrangement works
A circulation pump sends dirty water into the drum. Water passes through the 120-micron screen and the biological stages, then drains back to the pond by gravity. Maximum throughput is 30,000 litres/hour, provided the return and installed pump circuit can support it.
Screen loading triggers an automatic wash, using the internal cleaning pump and spray bar while the drum turns. The removed solids leave by the waste connection. The wash pump is included, but it is not the circulation pump that lifts water from the pond.
Media and UV have different jobs
The 80W high-output UV-C helps address suspended algae. The moving-bed and matting sections provide surfaces for biological treatment, which develops as bacteria establish on the media. A new filter can rinse effectively and still need time before it handles the final feeding load.
An optional 100-litre Hel-X and 2 m² matting arrangement is listed for this model. Keep the moving media aerated with a suitable external air pump, and leave enough free space to avoid clumping or stagnant corners. Matting belongs in the fixed-media section, where it can be removed for cleaning.
For loose sheets, choose our high-quality Japanese matting: one or two 1.2 Ă— 1 m sheets, supplied uncut. Two provide 2.4 m² before trimming. This option is not a complete factory cartridge; plan the cuts and water passages to suit the actual chamber.
Comparing nearby models
The 25/30 Low Inline Pump Fed is narrower and has a lower maximum flow. The 30/45 Inline L Pump Fed uses a taller, longer body. Looking at those physical differences is more useful than choosing solely by the number printed in the name.
The matching Low Inline trickle stage is an optional additional biological filter. Its flow limit is lower than the maximum of this drum, so design the branch feeding it rather than sending the whole circuit through it by default.

Setup and routine care
Give the clean return a continuous, unrestricted route to the pond and test it through several automatic rinses. Keep waste drainage accessible and protect the electrical installation. Use the Excellent manual for commissioning and safe maintenance, with sufficient room left around the body to follow it in practice.
