A lower inline combi for a pumped pond supply
The pump-fed Excellent 25/30 Low Inline is worth considering when there is a long strip of space beside the pond but not enough width for a conventional combi. Its body is 1,935 mm long, 590 mm wide and 750 mm high, with the drum and biological stages arranged in line.
Water is supplied by a pond pump and returns by gravity. That makes the unit suitable for a different kind of installation from the gravity-fed Inline, even though the external shape is similar. Check the available return height before choosing the base position.
What happens inside the filter
Dirty water first meets a 120-micron drum screen. As the screen collects material, a level change starts the motor and internal wash pump. The rotating mesh is rinsed through the spray bar, and debris leaves through the waste route.
The biological chambers provide the next stage, with moving media and fixed matting performing different roles. The included 80W high-output UV-C helps control suspended green-water algae. It does not take the place of mature media, and extra UV power will not correct a biological overload.
An orderly media setup
An optional 100-litre Hel-X and 2 m² matting arrangement is associated with this model. Leave sufficient free water for the moving media to circulate, and supply the fitted air bars with a suitable external air pump. Measure performance at the chamber depth rather than relying on the pump’s open-air rating.
Our high-quality Japanese matting is available as uncut sheets. Select one or two 1.2 Ă— 1 m sheets according to the layout; two provide 2.4 m² before cutting. This is uncut material for the static section, not a pre-shaped cartridge or something to wedge into the moving bed.
The matched Inline trickle add-on needs separate support and flow planning. It should not be added just to fill unused space above the filter, especially where the whole point of choosing the Low model was limited height.
Making the return work
Maximum water flow is 20,000 litres/hour. Size the circulation pump for the lift and pipe losses, then keep the clean-water return large enough to carry its output. A return with trapped air, a high spot or a substantial reduction can limit a pump-fed filter even when the inlet pump looks correctly sized.
Compare the standard-width 25/30 Low Pump Fed if a shorter footprint would work better. For a little more width and a larger drum, look at the 30/40 Low Inline Pump Fed.

Living with a narrow installation
Leave a usable service space rather than fitting the body hard against two walls. You should be able to inspect the waste channel and remove the UV lamp and quartz without moving the filter. Follow the Excellent operating instructions and keep the mesh clear of pressure-washer jets during cleaning.
