Compact Low Height Inline Drum Filter for Pump Fed Koi Pond Systems
The Filtreau Excellent Combi Drum 25/30 Low Version Pump Fed Inline is a compact, high performance drum filtration system designed for pump fed pond installations where space and installation height are restricted. Its low build height and inline pipe configuration make it ideal for filter bays, retrofits and enclosed chambers where clean pipe routing is required.
Designed for ponds up to approximately 50000 litres depending on stocking levels, this combi drum delivers strong mechanical and biological filtration for koi ponds, ornamental systems and larger wildlife ponds. With a maximum flow rate of up to 25000 litres per hour, it supports reliable water turnover in pump fed systems.
The Low Version stands approximately 750mm high, allowing installation in areas where a full height drum filter would not fit.
High Efficiency Mechanical Filtration with Integrated UV
At the centre of the system sits a 400mm x 400mm stainless steel drum fitted with a 120 micron screen. This fine mesh removes suspended solids before they enter the biological chamber. By separating waste early, the drum reduces load on the bio media and improves long term filtration stability.
When debris restricts water flow, the stainless steel float switch activates the automatic cleaning cycle. The industrial 130Nm SPG XL motor rotates the drum while high pressure spray nozzles clean the mesh. The internal RVS 5 bar 600W flushing pump powers the wash cycle.
As a result, the filter maintains consistent performance with minimal manual intervention.
The integrated 80W high output stainless steel immersion UV C operates at 253.7nm. It helps control green water algae and harmful microorganisms while supporting clear and healthy pond conditions without the need for a separate inline UV unit.
Balanced Biological Filtration and Aeration
The 25/30 Low Inline Pump Fed model includes a dedicated biological chamber designed to accommodate both moving and static media. You can install Hel-X or Hel-X moving bed media, along with Japanese matting if required. We recommend the Charles Austen ET100 airpump.
For ponds of this size, moving bed media provides efficient ammonia and nitrite breakdown when supplied with adequate aeration. The chamber includes integrated air bars, typically 2 x 50mm x 300mm, to keep media in constant motion and properly oxygenated.
Keeping the media moving prevents dead zones and reduces the risk of anaerobic bacteria forming. Consequently, biological performance remains stable under normal feeding conditions.
The filter is supplied without Hel-X or Japanese matting. Therefore, media must be purchased separately to match your pond’s stocking level and filtration needs.
The 130Nm SPG XL drive motor features double seals to protect against leaks and moisture ingress. Meanwhile, the control box manages the automated cleaning cycle for reliable long term operation.
