The Filtreau Excellent Combi Drum 25/30 Low Version Pump Fed is a compact, high performance filtration system designed for pump fed koi ponds where installation height is restricted yet strong mechanical and biological filtration remains essential.
It suits ponds up to 50000 litres. In this configuration, the system combines mechanical drum filtration, twin biological chambers and an integrated 80 watt High Output UV clarifier within a single compact unit. As a result, it delivers effective solids removal, stable biological processing and reliable green water control.
With a maximum flow rate of 25000 litres per hour, the 25/30 Low Pump version performs particularly well on raised ponds and retrofit installations. Therefore, it offers a practical solution where gravity fed layouts are not feasible. In addition, the system includes 3 x 110 mm inlets and 2 x 110 mm outlets, which allow flexible plumbing integration and balanced flow.
An industrial 130Nm SPG XL motor rated at 60W 220V drives the stainless steel drum. Meanwhile, a stainless steel float switch continuously monitors water levels. When debris restricts the screen, the system rotates the drum automatically while the internal 5 bar RVS flushing pump activates. Consequently, it cleans the mesh and discharges waste directly to drain without manual intervention.
Biological Filtration and Media Configuration
The 25/30 Low Version Pump Fed model includes twin biological chambers with a maximum combined media capacity of approximately 100 litres.
Because this is a true Combi unit, the biological section divides into moving and static stages. One chamber accommodates 50 to 70 litres of Hel-X 13 or Hel-X media. When you aerate it correctly, it delivers high surface area nitrification and efficient ammonia and nitrite conversion. The second chamber holds Japanese matting, which provides a stable structure for additional bacterial colonisation and biological polishing.
To ensure the moving bed operates effectively, you must provide adequate aeration. For this reason, a Charles Austen ET100 air pump is strongly recommended. The ET100 supplies sufficient airflow to keep the media properly agitated. As a result, it maintains optimal oxygen transfer and consistent biological performance. In contrast, undersizing the air supply reduces media movement and overall filtration efficiency.
The unit includes 2 x 50 x 300 mm air bars to distribute air evenly across the biological chamber. However, biological media is supplied separately. Therefore, you can configure the system according to stocking density and pond load.
The integrated 80 watt High Output UV operates at 253.7 nm, which represents the optimal wavelength for controlling algae and harmful microorganisms.
Finally, the compact dimensions of 1160 mm x 902 mm x 750 mm make this model particularly suitable for shallow chambers and restricted plant rooms.
