High Capacity Moving Bed Biological Filtration Module

The Oase ProfiClear Premium Moving Bed Module L is a dedicated biological filtration chamber designed to expand and enhance ProfiClear Premium modular filtration systems. Engineered for koi ponds, fish ponds and large ornamental installations, it provides powerful nitrification through a fluidised Hel X moving bed process. As a result, it significantly improves biological stability in high demand pond environments.

Designed primarily for gravity fed systems, the Moving Bed Module L connects directly to the ProfiClear Premium Drum Filter Module. Therefore, it operates as the second stage of filtration, processing dissolved pollutants after mechanical separation has taken place.

Advanced Hel X Biological Processing with Aeration Support

At the core of the module sits Oase Hel X biomedia, which offers up to 806 m² per cubic metre of protected surface area. Consequently, it provides substantially more bacterial settlement space compared to traditional K1 style media. This increased surface area allows beneficial bacteria to colonise effectively and break down ammonia, ammonium and nitrite.

The integrated aerator bar at the base of the chamber ensures continuous oxygen supply. When connected to an air pump, the system maintains constant media movement. As a result, the fluidised bed process prevents clogging, eliminates dead zones and supports consistent bacterial activity.

The module is designed to handle flow rates up to 25,000 litres per hour. In addition, bypass technology ensures optimal circulation even under higher flow conditions. Therefore, the Moving Bed Module L remains stable in demanding koi pond setups.

A slide valve flush system with DN 75 discharge allows simple removal of settled debris when required. Furthermore, the durable construction ensures long term reliability within professional filtration installations.

Oase ProfiClear Premium Moving Bed Module L should be chosen as part of the complete air system, not just by litres per minute. Airline length, airline bore, diffuser depth, manifold taps and back pressure all affect the real airflow that reaches the pond or filter. A well matched aeration system runs more quietly, puts less strain on the pump and gives more dependable oxygen support.

• Use suitable airline size for the pump output and distance involved.
• Keep the air pump dry, ventilated and protected from flooding.
• Spread airflow across multiple diffusers on larger ponds where possible.
• Check diaphragms, filters and diffusers during routine servicing.

For koi ponds, moving bed filters and warm weather aeration, consistent airflow is often more useful than simply oversizing the pump. Balanced diffuser placement gives better circulation and helps avoid stagnant areas.
