The Filtreau HF30 Drum Filter – Pump Fed delivers professional automatic mechanical pre-filtration for koi ponds and ornamental ponds where gravity installation simply is not possible. Because it sits above water level, it works perfectly for retrofit systems, raised ponds, and liner ponds without bottom drains.
This pump-fed configuration features the NEW XL SPG motor with double seal, delivering 130Nm of torque for powerful and consistent drum rotation. As a result, the unit handles heavier debris loads with ease while maintaining long-term reliability. Even during peak feeding periods, the drum continues to rotate smoothly and efficiently.
Water enters the drum chamber directly from your pond pump and immediately passes through a precision stainless steel screen. The screen traps solid waste on the inside of the drum, while clean water exits through the outlets and continues to your biological filtration stage. Consequently, your bio media stays cleaner and performs more efficiently.
As debris accumulates, the water level inside the drum changes. At that point, the float switch triggers the automatic cleaning cycle. The drum rotates while high-pressure spray nozzles flush waste to drain. Therefore, the system keeps the screen clear without requiring daily manual cleaning.
With a standard flow capacity of 20m³ per hour and upgrade potential to over 30m³ per hour using a high-flow panel, the HF30 Pump Fed provides dependable and efficient mechanical waste removal for medium to large pond systems.
Pump Fed Installation and Performance
Unlike gravity-fed systems, this model receives water directly from a pond pump. Therefore, it suits ponds without bottom drains or installations where gravity layout is not achievable.
Because the HF30 removes solids before they reach the biological stage, it reduces organic breakdown inside the system. As a result, ammonia spikes decrease and overall water stability improves. Over time, this leads to clearer water and more consistent filtration performance.
The compact footprint fits neatly into filter bays or enclosed cabinets, making installation straightforward. Despite its smaller size, it delivers serious mechanical filtration performance, which makes it suitable for heavily stocked koi ponds.
This version does not include a built-in UV-C unit as standard. However, that makes it ideal for systems where UV clarification already operates separately or where you prefer a standalone UV unit.
