The Filtreau Drum Filter with UVC – Pump Fed is a compact, fully automatic mechanical filtration system designed for koi ponds and ornamental ponds up to 30m³, depending on stocking levels. Built for pump-fed installations, this unit delivers powerful solid waste removal and integrated UV clarification in one efficient housing.

At the core of the system is a 120 micron stainless steel 316 drum screen. As pond water passes through the drum, the screen captures suspended solids, fish waste and uneaten food before they can break down and compromise water quality. Consequently, this significantly reduces organic load and improves overall system stability.

The integrated 40W Amalgam UV-C module operates at 253.7nm and provides consistent high-intensity UV radiation. Unlike standard UV lamps, the Amalgam unit maintains stable output across varying temperatures and offers a lifespan of approximately 12,000 hours. As a result, it effectively suppresses algae spores, bacteria and harmful microorganisms while preventing biofilm formation on the drum screen.

Thanks to its compact dimensions of 940mm x 485mm x 534mm, this model suits tighter filter pits and smaller installations. However, despite its size, it delivers a maximum flow rate of 25m³ per hour, making it suitable for serious koi systems.

Automatic Cleaning and Pump-Fed Operation

This pump-fed model is designed for systems where a pump feeds water directly into the drum filter. Water enters through two 110mm inlets and passes through the rotating drum before exiting via a 110mm outlet.

When debris restricts flow through the screen, the stainless steel float switch detects the level change and activates the cleaning cycle. The internal flushing pump powers high-pressure spray nozzles that rinse the drum screen while it rotates, flushing waste directly to drain.

Because the rinse pump is built into the unit, installation remains straightforward and independent of mains water pressure. Furthermore, the IP44-rated control box allows manual override operation when required.

By removing solids before they degrade and combining that with high-output Amalgam UV clarification, this drum filter dramatically reduces maintenance compared to traditional sponge, bead or sand filtration systems.
