The Filtreau Drum Filter with UVC – Gravity Fed is a compact, high-performance mechanical pre-filter designed for koi ponds and ornamental ponds up to 20–25m³. Because it operates as a gravity-fed system, it connects directly to bottom drains or skimmers and allows water to enter naturally at pond level.

This model combines automatic mechanical drum filtration with a powerful 40W Amalgam UV-C unit. As a result, it removes solid waste while simultaneously suppressing algae, bacteria and harmful microorganisms. Therefore, you achieve clearer water and improved fish health without relying heavily on chemical treatments.

At the centre of the unit sits a 70-micron stainless steel 316 drum screen. As water flows through the screen, it traps fine debris and organic waste before it can reach your biological stage. Consequently, your bio media remains cleaner and more efficient over time.

When debris builds on the screen, the internal water level changes. The float switch then activates the automatic cleaning cycle. The drum rotates while high-pressure flat jet nozzles spray the screen clean, flushing waste directly to drain. This process keeps the filter operating efficiently without daily manual intervention.

With a maximum flow rate of 20m³ per hour, and performance capability up to 25m³ per hour depending on configuration, this gravity-fed drum filter delivers reliable pre-filtration for medium-sized koi systems.

Integrated UV-C and Reliable Drive System

In addition to mechanical filtration, this unit includes a 40W Amalgam UV-C lamp operating at 253.7nm. This precise wavelength disrupts algae cells and neutralises harmful microorganisms as water passes the chamber. As a result, green water clears faster and overall pond stability improves.

The system uses a 27Nm motor gearbox with slip clutch protection. Therefore, if resistance increases, the motor protects itself from strain. This ensures long-term durability and dependable drum rotation.

The housing combines PU construction with stainless steel 316 components and high-pressure PVC fittings. Consequently, the unit withstands demanding pond environments while remaining compact and easy to install.

Because of its narrow footprint, it fits comfortably into filter bays and gravity-fed pits where space is limited. Despite its size, it delivers serious mechanical and UV performance for dedicated koi keepers.
