Evolution Aqua Tempest 3mm Mounting Brackets – Pair

These genuine Evolution Aqua brackets provide the dedicated mounting arrangement for the Tempest pond filter. The set contains two 3mm stainless steel brackets, manufacturer reference 5100-725. Choose this pair when replacing missing or damaged Tempest supports, or when planning a suitable installation using the manufacturer’s current bracket design. This is a mounting accessory: the filter, pipework and installation fixings are separate purchases.

The important compatibility check is the filter model, rather than the general appearance of a bracket. These supports are for the Evolution Aqua Tempest Filter. They are not the smaller mounting brackets for the Surge and should not be bought as a universal support for a UV clarifier, pump or other filter. If you are replacing an older mounting arrangement, compare your Tempest installation with the current manufacturer instructions before removing any supports.

Product details at a glance

  • Manufacturer: Evolution Aqua.
  • Part number: 5100-725.
  • Pack contents: a pair of mounting brackets.
  • Material: stainless steel.
  • Bracket material thickness: 3mm.
  • Designed for: the Evolution Aqua Tempest pond filter.
  • Purpose: supporting and positioning the filter as part of a correctly installed system.

Plan the mounting position before connecting the pipework

A useful filter installation leaves room for everyday operation as well as the equipment itself. Position the Tempest where its valves can be reached without stretching across exposed cables or other pipe runs. Allow access to the waste connection and make sure the intended cleaning discharge can reach a suitable drain point. Leaving this space at the start is much easier than trying to move a full, plumbed-in filter afterwards.

Check the supporting wall or structure before choosing screws and anchors. The appropriate fixing depends on what you are mounting into; a screw intended for timber is not a substitute for a suitable masonry fixing. The brackets are only one part of the support system. A strong bracket cannot compensate for a loose panel, deteriorated timber or an unsuitable wall fixing. Use the manufacturer’s installation instructions and obtain practical installation help if the support surface is uncertain.

Keep pipework aligned and independently supported

Offer up the filter and check its position before committing to permanent pipe connections. Pipework should meet the filter without having to be pulled sideways or forced upwards. Long unsupported runs can place unnecessary strain on connections, particularly when filled with water. Plan suitable pipe supports so the inlet, outlet and waste arrangements remain tidy and accessible.

Do not use the filter or these brackets as a convenient step or handhold when working in a filter bay. Keep heavy stored items away from the installation and avoid routing hoses where they could be caught or pulled. This is especially useful in compact equipment areas where maintenance of one component can otherwise disturb another.

Replacing existing Tempest supports

Prepare for the job while the filter is still securely mounted. Identify how the water supply will be isolated and how the filter will be drained in accordance with its manual. Switch off the relevant pump before working on the installation, and arrange temporary support before releasing the existing brackets. Never assume that the connected pipework will safely hold the filter in place.

Compare the new pair with the filter and the intended mounting points before drilling or cutting anything. Older installations may use different support arrangements, so the existing wall holes are not automatically a template for the current brackets. Work from the actual components and the relevant instructions, keeping the filter correctly positioned and leaving the operating clearances you planned.

After reassembly, check that the support is secure and that valves and unions remain accessible. Refill and restart the system following the filter instructions, then inspect the connections for leaks. Recheck the installation once water is flowing normally rather than judging the fit only while the filter is empty.

Other Tempest parts and useful alternatives

If the problem is at the cleaning outlet rather than the mounting position, see the Evolution Aqua Tempest Waste Valve Assembly. Replacing a bracket will not repair a leaking valve or resolve a blocked waste line. Identifying the affected component first helps you order the correct spare and avoid taking more of the filter apart than necessary.

For the filter’s media, see Evolution Aqua K+ Filter Media. Use the media type and quantity specified for your particular filter. Adding media is a separate maintenance decision and is not part of installing this bracket pair. If you are comparing complete filtration options, the Evolution Aqua Surge Filter is another product to review, but its mounting parts are not interchangeable with these Tempest brackets.

What should I check before ordering?

Confirm that the filter is a Tempest, that you need the pair of brackets rather than a complete filter, and that reference 5100-725 matches the required part. A new filter may already include its own mounting supports, so check the supplied equipment list before adding an extra pair. Keep a record of the part reference with your filter manual to make future replacement decisions straightforward.
