The Filtreau Combi-NEXT Drum Filter with UVC – Gravity Fed is a fully automated mechanical and biological filtration system designed for koi ponds up to 45m³, depending on stocking density and feeding levels. It combines precision drum filtration, a large 350 litre moving bed biological chamber and an integrated 40W Amalgam UV-C module in one compact gravity-fed unit.

Designed specifically for gravity-fed installations using bottom drains or skimmers, the filter sits at pond water level. Water flows naturally into the drum chamber where solid waste is removed before it can degrade water quality downstream.

At the centre of the system is a Ø400 x 430mm stainless steel drum fitted with a 120 micron screen. When debris restricts flow, the stainless steel float switch activates the automatic cleaning cycle. The NEW XL SPG motor delivers 130Nm of torque, ensuring smooth drum rotation even under heavier waste loads.

This gravity version connects directly to a mains water supply for cleaning and does not include an internal rinse pump. During the cleaning cycle, spray nozzles flush debris from the drum screen using mains pressure, discharging waste directly to drain.

Biological Capacity and UV Performance

The Combi-NEXT features a substantial 350 litre moving bed biological chamber. For optimal long-term performance, this chamber is designed to hold approximately 200 litres of moving bed media.

At full maturity, a correctly sized media load can process significant feeding levels while maintaining ammonia and nitrite stability. However, for correct aeration and movement, the chamber should typically be filled to approximately 70 percent of total volume to allow proper boiling action.

As part of our current promotion, this model includes 100 litres of moving bed media free of charge. This provides half of the recommended biological capacity from day one while leaving room to expand to the full 200 litre load if required for higher feeding regimes.

The integrated 40W Amalgam High Output UV-C module operates at 253.7nm and includes an LED indicator for lamp monitoring. It suppresses algae spores, bacteria and harmful microorganisms as water passes through the unit, improving clarity and overall pond health throughout the year.

We recommend using the Charles Austen ET100 Airpump with this filter system.
