This is a replacement pack of cleaning pads. The pool, liner, viewing window and filtration equipment are separate products. If you are putting together a maintenance shopping list, check which task each item performs before ordering. Window pads help with the viewing surface; they do not replace the filter’s own foam or other filter media.

Cleaning the inside of the window

A light green film on the inner window can make it harder to see the fish and plants behind it. Blagdon identifies this soft algae as a natural occurrence in a water feature and advises gently wiping it away with a fresh pad. Work carefully across the accessible surface rather than applying heavy pressure to a stubborn patch.

Choose a position from which you can reach the window comfortably. Keep the pad under control and take care around the edge of the panel. If reaching a particular area means leaning awkwardly over the pool, stop and improve your access before continuing. Window cleaning should be a straightforward part of looking after the pool, not a reason to strain the structure or disturb its fittings.

Cleaning the outside of the window

The outer face can collect dust and splashed dirt. Blagdon recommends rinsing away the larger particles with a little water before gently wiping with a clean pad if needed. This preliminary rinse matters because dirt carried across a delicate surface can cause damage, even when the cleaning material itself is appropriate.

Our practical recommendation is to inspect the pad before it touches the viewing panel. If it has fallen onto soil, gravel or paving, use a fresh one rather than risk carrying grit onto the window. Keep unused pads in their packaging and away from dirty tools so that a clean pad is available for the next maintenance visit.

Window cleaning and filter maintenance are separate jobs

It helps to identify what is making the view unclear before you start. Dirt attached to the viewing panel calls for careful surface cleaning. Cloudiness in the water itself needs attention to the pond’s water and filtration; wiping a clear window cannot remove particles suspended throughout the pool. Looking down into the water as well as through the panel can help you describe the difference when asking for advice.

Where an Affinity pool uses an InPond filter, follow the instructions for that exact filter when servicing it. The window pads are identified by their cleaning purpose and part number, rather than by a replacement liner’s shape. If you also need a structural spare, identify the pool model separately. A half-moon pool and an octagonal pool require different liner selections, even though both may have viewing windows that need routine care.
