Evolution Aqua Nexus Ti UV Upgrade Kits
Add the current integrated Titanium-Enhanced UV system to a compatible Nexus filter
The Evolution Aqua Nexus Ti UV Upgrade Kit is designed for owners of suitable Nexus 220 and Nexus 320 filters who want the built-in ultraviolet clarification used by the latest Nexus Ti systems without replacing the complete filter. The kit places twin UVC lamps directly in the clean-water outlet chamber, reducing external pipework and giving the water controlled exposure to the titanium-enhanced UV surfaces before it returns to the pond.
Two model-specific kits are available. The Nexus 220 kit uses two 36W UVC lamps, while the Nexus 320 version uses two 55W lamps. This is not a universal UV clarifier: choose the kit that matches the Nexus body and confirm the filter was manufactured after 2006. Evolution Aqua states that upgrade-kit support is not available for pre-2006 Nexus filters.

What the titanium-enhanced system changes
UVC light damages the microscopic suspended algae responsible for green water, allowing the mechanical stage to capture it more effectively. Evolution Aqua positions the titanium-enhanced chamber to improve the interaction between UVC, water and the treated internal surface, and states that the Nexus Ti arrangement can clear green water up to 1.5 times faster than a standard system under comparable conditions.
The upgrade does not replace biological filtration or routine Nexus cleaning. K1 Micro in the Eazy section still captures solids, while the moving biological media processes dissolved fish waste. The UV tackles suspended algae; it does not remove settled sludge, correct ammonia or compensate for a filter that is undersized for the fish load.
Compatibility and installation checks
- Identify the exact Nexus model and manufacturing generation before ordering.
- Use the 220 kit only with the compatible Nexus 220 family and the 320 kit only with the compatible Nexus 320 family.
- The kits are intended for post-2006 Nexus filters; older bodies are not supported by the current upgrade programme.
- Follow the supplied drilling, sealing, electrical and lamp-fitting instructions exactly.
- Isolate the filter, pump and all electrical equipment before installation or servicing.
- Never look directly at an illuminated UVC lamp and never operate the UV outside its enclosed water chamber.
If you are unsure which generation you own, send us clear photographs of the complete filter, data label, inlet, outlet and Eazy section before ordering. Browse the full Evolution Aqua Nexus range or our pond-filter spares for compatible service parts.
Servicing the upgrade
UV output falls with lamp age even when the lamps still glow. Inspect and clean the quartz sleeves as the manual directs, replace lamps at the recommended interval and renew any damaged seals with the correct genuine components. Mineral deposits, biofilm and trapped debris on a sleeve reduce the useful UV reaching the water.
Frequently asked questions
Will this fit every Nexus 220 or 320?
No. Evolution Aqua specifies post-2006 Nexus systems and the kit must match the 220 or 320 body. Confirm the generation before ordering.
What is included?
The model-specific kit includes the integrated twin-lamp UV assembly, lamps, power components, mounting parts, seals and fittings required by the current installation instructions.
Does it replace the filter media?
No. It adds ultraviolet clarification. The Eazy and biological chambers still need the correct media, flow, air and cleaning routine.
Which wattage does each model use?
The Nexus 220 kit uses twin 36W UVC lamps; the Nexus 320 kit uses twin 55W UVC lamps.
Will it cure ammonia or nitrite?
No. UV targets suspended organisms such as green-water algae. Ammonia and nitrite require adequate mature biological filtration, oxygen and controlled feeding.
Check your Nexus model before upgrading
