Oase BioSmart Set 7000 Pond Filter and Pump Kit
Complete Pond Filtration System with Pump and UVC
The Oase BioSmart Set 7000 is a complete pond filtration kit designed for smaller garden ponds up to 7,000 litres. Combining mechanical and biological filtration with integrated UVC technology, this plug and play system helps remove debris, control green water algae and maintain clear, healthy pond water.
Supplied with the BioSmart 7000 flow through filter, Filter Pump 2500 and an integrated UVC clarifier, the system provides everything required to install an effective pond filtration setup straight out of the box.
How the BioSmart Set 7000 Works
Water is pumped from the pond using the supplied Filter Pump 2500, delivering a maximum flow rate of 2,500 litres per hour. The water first passes through the integrated 9W UVC clarifier, where ultraviolet light disrupts suspended algae and harmful microorganisms responsible for green water.
After passing through the UVC unit, the water flows into the BioSmart filter box where it passes through a series of filter foams. These foams remove suspended debris while also providing a large surface area for beneficial bacteria to colonise. These bacteria break down waste products such as ammonia and nitrite, helping maintain stable water conditions for fish and aquatic life.
The BioSmart filter includes several features designed to simplify maintenance. The EasyClean system allows the filter foams to be squeezed using external handles, allowing them to be cleaned without removing them from the filter box. A built in pollutant level indicator shows when the filter requires maintenance, while the integrated sludge drain allows dirty water and debris to be flushed out quickly.
A temperature gauge built into the filter lid also allows pond owners to monitor water temperature easily, which can be useful when managing fish feeding and seasonal pond care.
Pond Size Recommendations
The filtration capacity of the BioSmart Set 7000 varies depending on fish stocking levels.
Natural ponds without fish can be filtered effectively up to approximately 7,000 litres.
Lightly stocked ponds or goldfish ponds are typically suitable up to around 3,500 litres.
Koi ponds require significantly more filtration and are recommended up to approximately 1,700 litres.
Selecting the correct filtration system for the pond size and fish stocking level is important for maintaining clear water and stable water quality.

UV sizing and maintenance notes
Oase BioSmart 7000 Pond Filter Set should be matched to the pond volume, flow rate and water clarity problem you are trying to solve. UV clarification works best when water passes the lamp at a suitable speed and the quartz sleeve is kept clean. If the flow is too fast, contact time can be reduced. If the lamp is old or the quartz sleeve is dirty, performance can drop even when the unit still appears to be switched on.
- Replace UV lamps as part of routine seasonal maintenance.
- Clean or inspect the quartz sleeve when water clarity starts to deteriorate.
- Match the UV to the pump and filter rather than installing it in isolation.
- Allow safe access for lamp changes and winter maintenance.
Good UV performance also depends on mechanical filtration. Removing fine debris before the UV helps the lamp work on green water algae more effectively.
