How the Oase Vitronic 18 W UVC Works
Water is pumped from the pond through the UVC chamber where it flows past the ultraviolet lamp. The UV light disrupts the cellular structure of free floating algae, causing them to clump together so they can then be removed by the pond filtration system.

UV sizing and maintenance notes
Oase Vitronic 18 W UVC should be matched to the pond volume, flow rate and water clarity problem you are trying to solve. UV clarification works best when water passes the lamp at a suitable speed and the quartz sleeve is kept clean. If the flow is too fast, contact time can be reduced. If the lamp is old or the quartz sleeve is dirty, performance can drop even when the unit still appears to be switched on.
