A matched media package for the Excellent 20/25 Low
This package is the Japanese-matting cartridge and Hel-X option for the Excellent 20/25 Low Gravity and 20/25 Low Pump Fed family. Its supplier reference is FS854MK, which is the useful identifier when distinguishing it from the other Excellent media packs.
The cartridge and moving media serve different parts of the biological arrangement. The matting provides a fixed-media stage; Hel-X is used in the aerated moving section. They should not all be packed together into one chamber.
A matched package rather than loose material
The reason to choose a model-specific package is the intended cartridge fit and coordinated media selection. An illustration of a similar cartridge is not a cutting template or proof of the quantity supplied, so match the exact filter and package reference before ordering.
An external air pump is still needed to keep the moving media circulating. The presence of media does not mean aeration equipment or an additional filter is included in the pack.
When separate media may be more useful
If the cartridge package is unavailable, separately selected Hel-X and our high-quality Japanese matting may be an alternative for the base filter’s designed chambers. The matting comes as 1.2 Ă— 1 m uncut sheets and needs an appropriate layout; it is not the same product as this shaped cartridge.
Avoid ordering the full package and an equivalent loose-media load together by accident. Check any media already included with the filter offer, then choose only what the installation needs.

Starting the biological stage
New media needs time to mature. Keep the moving section well aerated, leave room for circulation and test ammonia and nitrite as feeding increases. Maintain access to lift and clean the matting without dismantling the whole filter.
For a 30/50 combi, use the 30/50-specific package instead. Similar product names do not make the cartridges interchangeable.
