ACE HIGH is the taller, two-sided path light in the In-Lite ACE collection. At 490mm high, it sits naturally among ornamental grasses and medium-height planting while sending a soft, controlled wash of warm-white light down both sides of the body. The lamp is concealed within the head, so the effect is visible without an exposed, uncomfortable point of glare.

This is a particularly good choice for long paths, driveway edges and borders where a smaller bollard would disappear into foliage. The clean rectangular design is available in Dark Grey, Corten, Rose Silver and White, making it possible to coordinate the freestanding lights with low ACE path lights and the related ACE wall-light family.

Two-sided downward light for paths and planting

Unlike the lower ACE, which has a much wider tilt range and is useful for directing light towards a feature, ACE HIGH emits a dispersed beam from both sides. The light source can be tilted by approximately 10 degrees, giving enough adjustment to favour a path edge or a particular part of the border while keeping the restrained two-sided effect.

In-Lite recommends a starting spacing of roughly two to three metres between ACE HIGH fittings. Treat that as design guidance rather than a rigid rule: closer spacing creates a more continuous route, while greater spacing produces separate pools of light. Test the layout after dark before fixing every base permanently.

Warm, natural colour rendering after dark

The integrated 3W LED produces 85 lumens at 3000K with a high CRI of 94. That combination gives a warm atmosphere while retaining good colour fidelity in foliage, paving and architectural materials. It is intentionally controlled garden lighting rather than a high-output security floodlight.

Each fitting adds 5.3VA to the transformer calculation. Add the VA of every light in the proposed circuit, allow sensible headroom, and choose a compatible In-Lite HUB or SMART HUB.

Install in soft ground or on a hard surface

The package includes a ground pin for grass, gravel and planting beds, plus screws and plugs for mounting on a suitable hard surface. A 60cm fixture cable and EASY-LOCK are supplied. The EASY-LOCK lets the fitting connect at the required point on genuine In-Lite system cable.

Use the ground pin only in stable, properly compacted soil. For paved routes or timber, plan a level fixing point and cable exit before drilling. Keep the connector accessible rather than trapping it beneath a permanent structure. A CBL-EXT CORD can provide additional reach between the fitting and EASY-LOCK when needed.

Choose the finish as part of the complete ACE scheme

Dark Grey is the most discreet beside dark fencing and contemporary paving. Corten brings a warmer architectural tone to brick, timber and autumnal planting. Rose Silver gives a softer metallic effect, while White creates a crisp contrast in light rendered or modern schemes. The aluminium housing uses In-Lite’s weather-resistant FCBV finish.

For a coordinated design, repeat the selected finish across path and wall fittings rather than introducing a different colour at every position. Mixing heights can work well: use ACE HIGH inside deeper planting, then the lower adjustable ACE beside steps, terraces and more open path edges.

Our practical advice

ACE HIGH works best where you want the body of the light to remain visible and contribute to the garden design. If the aim is to hide the fitting completely and illuminate a tree or sculpture, choose an In-Lite spotlight instead. For unobtrusive points of light within paving, compare the recessed-light range.
