Recessed lighting can be almost invisible by day, but the fitting must be selected before the paving, decking or wall is finished. Start with the effect—not the hole size

Drainage and access matter
An IP rating does not compensate for an unsuitable recess that holds water or for a cable connection that cannot be serviced. Follow the current installation guide, provide the specified free space and drainage, and keep a record of every cut-out and cable route. Do not order a module on its own if the selected finish requires a separate bezel or housing.

Do all recessed modules include a bezel?

They provide the visible trim or mounting interface for compatible light modules in different sizes, shapes and finishes. Select only the accessory documented for the module.
What are BOX and SPIKE accessories for?
They adapt certain recessed-light components for the specified installation context, such as a construction recess or soft-ground mounting. Compatibility is model-specific.
Can recessed lights be installed in existing paving?
Sometimes, but the cut-out, depth, cable access and drainage must be achievable without damaging the surface. It is much easier to plan them before paving is laid.
Do recessed lights need drainage?
Many ground-recessed installations require a free-draining base and must not sit in a water-holding pocket. Follow the current installation instructions for the exact fitting and surface.
Can I drive over an In-Lite recessed light?
Only where the exact product documentation explicitly permits the relevant load and installation method. Do not infer drive-over suitability from a metal bezel or IP rating.
Can an IP67 recessed light be used underwater?
No. IP67 does not automatically make a fitting suitable for continuous submersion. Use the purpose-designed SUB IP68 underwater light where required.
How do I avoid glare from an uplight?
Keep strong beams away from normal eye lines, use asymmetric or shielded effects where suitable and test the fitting at night from the house, terrace and path.
When should I choose a spike spotlight instead?
Choose a spike light where planting will change, aiming needs future adjustment or cutting the hard surface is undesirable. Recessed lights suit permanent, integrated positions.
