This open stainless steel spillway forms an outlet through the side of a pond, raised chamber or planted veggie filter. Water passes across the open channel and over the front lip. Select the channel width for the required outlet span and the projection for the wall thickness and finish. The fixing flange needs space around the opening as well as behind it.

Choose the right size and connection

Available outlet sizes on this page: 200, 300, 400, 500, 600mm. Select the exact option above before adding it to your basket.

The sides are 50mm high. The supplier specifies a 2mm body, 3mm fixing flange and 6mm fixing holes. *Overall flange widths above are calculated from the supplier’s stated 25mm extension on each side. The flange also extends 25mm below the channel; allow 75mm for its height.

Plan the installation

Support the unit securely and level the outlet from side to side. Make the junction with the chamber watertight using a sealant suitable for the pond materials and aquatic use. Keep the outlet and pipework accessible for inspection. Before completing the finish, run the system and check for leaks, uneven flow, backing-up and splashing.

A veggie filter needs its own correctly designed chamber, water supply and filtration arrangement. This listing is for the stainless steel outlet; the spillway alone is not a complete biological filter.

Pump selection and water flow

Choose a pump from its flow curve at the working lift, allowing for hose length and bends. A headline maximum litres-per-hour figure is measured under different conditions from most installed features. The vertical lift is measured from the pond or reservoir water surface to the outlet.

Variable flow makes adjustment easier during commissioning. Start gently and increase the flow while checking the full outlet, the landing position and the splash area. Wider outlets and longer pipe routes need particular attention. Send us the selected blade size, lift and pipe route if you need help choosing a pump.

Care and seasonal use

Wipe the stainless steel regularly with a soft cloth and remove deposits before they build up. Avoid chlorine-based cleaners; stainless steel can stain or corrode, particularly with salt exposure. Keep cleaning residues out of the pond. If shutting the feature down for winter, drain and dry the blade and exposed pipework.

Pumps, reservoirs and surrounding landscaping shown in installation photographs are not included with the blade.
