The Gravity Fed Water Blade with 100mm Spout is a premium stainless steel waterfall feature, designed to deliver elegance, reliability, and smooth water flow for ponds running on gravity-fed systems. Since its first prototype in 2016, it has been meticulously tested, refined, and officially launched in 2018 to ensure maximum performance with long-lasting durability.

Unlike standard water blades, this model has been engineered to eliminate back pressure, ensuring a seamless water flow. It is compatible with large inlet pipes of up to 4 inches in diameter, making it ideal for high-capacity gravity-fed pond systems. With a choice of spout overhangs in 100mm, 200mm, or 300mm, you can select the projection that best suits your design and water display preferences.

The blade is crafted from 3mm thick stainless steel for the back flange and 2mm stainless steel for the body, offering strength, corrosion resistance, and a professional brushed finish for a sleek, modern look. Designed to last, it combines both functionality and style, enhancing the appearance of ponds, koi systems, and garden water features.

Available in widths from 200mm to 600mm, the Gravity Fed Water Blade can be tailored to fit any project. For unique installations, we also offer custom manufacturing, ensuring your waterfall matches your exact requirements.

For installation, you will need a regular pipe fitting (non-threaded) and a rubber coupling to secure the connection. This makes fitting both simple and reliable, ensuring long-term performance.

Pump and flow rate guidance

Gravity-fed water blades are more sensitive to pipework design than a normal pump-fed blade. The unit needs a large, unrestricted feed so the water can settle and spread evenly across the spill lip without being forced through a small pressure hose. Water Blades recommend the following pump outputs as a starting point for gravity-fed water blade installations, measured as the real flow arriving at the blade after head height and pipe losses.

When choosing a pump, do not work from the headline pump size alone. A pump rated at 10,000 litres per hour will deliver less than that once it has to lift water and push it through pipework. For this reason, it is often worth selecting a larger variable flow pond pump and turning it down to suit the blade once installed.

Pipework and installation extras

Gravity-fed blades should be installed with the correct rigid pipe, smooth bends and suitable rubber couplings rather than being reduced too aggressively. Keeping the pipework large and unrestricted helps the blade fill evenly and reduces the chance of surging or uneven flow. Use the inlet size selected on the product and avoid guessing based on outside diameters, as pond hose, pressure pipe, black waste pipe and rubber fittings are not always interchangeable.
