Choose your Bitron Eco UVC

The 120 watt model is included in the base price. The larger choices replace it and add only the stated difference.

The Oase ProfiClear Premium Compact L pump fed filter kit is a high-capacity automatic filtration package for large ponds and substantial koi systems. It combines the Compact L drum and moving bed filter with an AquaMax Eco Premium 21000 pump and a selectable Bitron Eco UVC, giving the three main water treatment stages in one order.

Fine solids are screened from the water automatically, the moving Hel-X stage deals with dissolved fish waste as it matures, and the Bitron Eco controls free-floating algae. The package deliberately excludes generic pipework so the system is not burdened with lengths and fittings that may be wrong for the site.

Bundle value: The 120 watt package is £5,614.99, saving £299.18 against the individual product prices. Upgrading to 180 watts or 240 watts retains a bundle saving of more than £300.

What is included

Why these parts work together

The Compact L is rated for up to 20,000 litres per hour. The included pump is rated at 21,000 litres per hour before lift and pipe resistance, so it provides a useful working margin without being wildly oversized. Measure the commissioned flow and keep it within the drum limit.

The 60 micron screen gives finer mechanical separation than many traditional pond filters. The 60 litre Hel-X biological stage then benefits from water that has already had the majority of suspended waste removed. Selectable UVC output lets the package suit anything from a shaded lower-load pond to a brighter, heavily stocked installation.

Choosing the right size for your pond

Do not size this filter from pond volume alone. Work from fish biomass, likely maximum feeding, desired turnover and the amount of debris the pond receives. A large natural pond with few fish can place a very different demand on the system from a smaller koi pond fed heavily throughout summer.

The Compact L is a strong option where automatic waste removal and a compact footprint matter. Choose 180 or 240 watts of UVC when sunlight, water volume or fish loading makes the 120 watt starting point too conservative. Separate aeration is still required for the pond and for any biological demand not covered by the filter installation.

Plan the installation before ordering

  • Use full-bore pressure pipe or suitable heavy duty hose on the pumped side and avoid unnecessary elbows and reducers. Install the Bitron Eco in accordance with its flow direction, support requirements and service clearances. Provide unions and isolation valves so the pump and UVC can be removed without disturbing the whole installation. Keep the gravity return generously sized and continuously falling. A restricted outlet can destabilise the drum water level. The base must be solid and exactly level, with room to remove the drum screen and biological media components during service. Plan mains water for the cleaning cycle, a dependable waste discharge and dedicated RCD-protected electrical supplies. Add appropriate aeration from our pond air pump range. An air pump is not included in this particular package.

Hose and pipework are not included. This keeps the kit price focused on the equipment and lets you choose the correct lengths, diameters, valves and fittings for the actual installation.

Commissioning and routine care

A newly installed moving bed cannot support a full feeding load immediately. Mature it gradually, test ammonia and nitrite and confirm that all media moves evenly. Keep an existing mature biological stage online during the changeover where possible.

Check the drum seal, spray bar, nozzles and waste chute regularly. Clean the UVC quartz sleeve, replace lamps at the correct service interval and record the measured flow so a blocked pump or pipe can be spotted before water quality suffers.

Frequently asked questions

What does the Compact L kit include?

It includes the Compact L pump fed filter, AquaMax Eco Premium 21000 and your selected Bitron Eco UVC. Pipework and a separate air pump are not included.

Which UVC should I choose?

Use 120 watts as the base option. The 180 and 240 watt versions suit larger, sunnier or more heavily stocked ponds where stronger UVC capacity is justified.

Is 21,000 L/h too much for the filter?

The pump figure is a maximum before installation losses. Measure and regulate the delivered flow so it stays at or below the filter limit of 20,000 L/h.

Can I use this on a koi pond?

Yes, provided it is sized from the real fish load, feeding and turnover rather than only the headline pond volume.

Is this the gravity-fed model?

No. This package uses the pump-fed Compact L and returns water to the pond by gravity.

Why is pipework not supplied?

Large systems vary greatly in lift, distance, return layout and existing fittings. Excluding generic pipework prevents paying for the wrong materials.

Does an automatic drum need maintenance?

Yes. It cleans itself during operation, but the screen, seals, spray system, waste chute and sensors still need planned inspection.

How quickly will the Hel-X mature?

Colonisation begins immediately but meaningful biological capacity develops over weeks and depends on temperature, oxygen and ammonia supply.

Do I need separate aeration?

Yes for most stocked installations. Size the air system for fish demand, biological filtration and warm weather, rather than assuming the water return supplies enough oxygen.

Can the system be installed below pond level?

This product is pump fed. The filter position must provide an unrestricted gravity return and safe access; follow Oase level and installation guidance exactly.
