Designed specifically for pump fed installations, the Compact L integrates a stainless steel drum screen with a large Hel X 13 moving bed biological chamber. Therefore, it provides both immediate debris removal and long term pollutant breakdown within a single modular unit.

Intelligent Drum Technology with Moving Bed Bio Filtration

At the centre of the system sits a 60 micron stainless steel drum screen. As water is pumped into the drum chamber, the screen captures solid waste, uneaten food and fine suspended debris before it can pass into the biological stage. Consequently, mechanical filtration occurs instantly and efficiently.

When debris begins to restrict flow, the automated cleaning cycle activates. High pressure spray jets then rinse the drum surface and flush collected waste into the discharge channel. As a result, the system continues operating without manual cleaning or interruption to circulation.

Following mechanical filtration, water enters the integrated moving bed chamber filled with Hel X 13 bio media. This high surface area media supports beneficial bacteria growth, which breaks down ammonia, ammonium and nitrite.
