Oase BioTec ScreenMatic Genuine Replacement Foam Sets
Correct coarse and fine foam pairs for 40000, 60000 and 140000 filters
These genuine Oase replacement sets restore the model-specific foam stages used after the ScreenMatic belt has removed larger debris. Options are available for BioTec ScreenMatic² 40000 and for the shared 60000/140000 family, including compatibility with predecessor BioTec ScreenMatic 18 and 36 models where Oase specifies it.
The blue option is a two-foam coarse set. The red/purple option contains one red and one purple foam. A complete filter uses several sets, not one pack: for example, current specialist guidance states the 60000 uses three red/purple sets and the 140000 uses seven. Count and confirm the arrangement in your filter before ordering.

Why the foam order matters
ScreenMatic filtration separates coarse debris on the moving belt before water reaches the foam bank. The foam grades then provide staged mechanical and biological treatment. Coarse blue media retains larger particles with a relatively open water path; the red and purple grades provide progressively different filtration. Rebuild each holder exactly as the model manual shows.
Fitting the wrong set can reduce treatment quality or cause uneven resistance through the chamber. Do not select by filter capacity alone: 40000 parts 42893/42895 are physically distinct from 60000/140000 parts 42894/42896.
Service procedure and water-quality protection
- Isolate the pump, ScreenMatic drive and connected UVC equipment.
- Photograph the foam-bank layout before removing holders.
- Clean reusable mature foams in removed pond water, not detergent.
- Replace torn, hardened or permanently compressed pieces with the correct grade.
- Refit every holder, clip and seal securely and restore the water level before restarting.
- Confirm the ScreenMatic belt advances correctly and that no water is bypassing the media.
- Test ammonia and nitrite after substantial media replacement.
For other model-specific parts, browse pond-filter spares. You can also compare filter media and filter-starting bacteria for a carefully managed restart.
Frequently asked questions
How many foams are in each pack?
Part 42895 and 42896 contain two blue foams. Part 42893 and 42894 contain one red and one purple foam.
Does one pack refill the complete filter?
No. The filters use multiple packs. Count the holders and follow the exact model manual before calculating quantity.
Will the 40000 sets fit the 60000?
No. Select the model-specific parts: 42893/42895 for 40000 and 42894/42896 for 60000/140000.
Are these compatible with older ScreenMatic filters?
Oase states the 60000/140000 sets also suit predecessor ScreenMatic 18/36 models. Confirm the part number before ordering.
When should they be replaced?
Replace foams when torn, misshapen, hardened or permanently compressed—not simply because mature media looks dirty.
