Lotus and Aquateck Replacement UV Quartz Sleeves

These replacement quartz sleeves are service parts for compatible Lotus and Aquateck pond UV assemblies. Choose the option that matches your existing unit and the supplier reference in the table below. A quartz sleeve is the clear protective tube around the UV lamp; it is a different component from the lamp itself and does not include the electrical assembly.

We offer four sleeve options here: 4W, 6W, 7/8/10/16/18W and 15/25W. Those wattages identify the compatible Lotus lamp arrangements, not a universal fitting standard. A 15W sleeve from another manufacturer, for example, should not be assumed to fit simply because its wattage description looks the same. Check the equipment label and the original parts diagram before ordering.

The options are replacement quartz tubes only. UV lamps, O-rings, compression fittings and a complete filter are not included. Check these other components while planning the service so that a worn seal does not prevent you from completing the repair. Keep the existing parts together until you have compared them with the replacement and confirmed the correct assembly.

Identify the unit before ordering

Start with the name and rating on the UV or filter label, rather than the volume of your pond. A filter’s model number and its lamp rating describe different things. Some larger systems also contain more than one lamp, so their total wattage may be greater than the rating of each individual lamp and sleeve arrangement.

Compare the end shape, sealing arrangement and overall size with the original part. We have not substituted an approximate tube length or diameter for the supplier’s part reference. If the label is damaged, a clear photograph of the housing and the removed component can help identify the assembly; guessing from an old bulb alone can result in the wrong part.

Why the quartz condition matters

The sleeve forms part of the barrier between the water and the lamp assembly. Its condition therefore matters when servicing the clarifier. Deposits on the outside and damage to the tube are different issues: a dirty sleeve may be suitable for cleaning, while a cracked or badly scratched sleeve needs replacement in accordance with the unit’s instructions.

Inspect the equipment before buying several replacement parts. An old lamp, restricted water flow or accumulated filter waste can also affect the system’s performance. Replacing the quartz is appropriate when the glass itself needs attention; it does not repair a failed ballast, restore a blocked pump or replace routine filter maintenance.

Prepare for servicing

Disconnect the equipment from the electrical supply before opening the UV assembly. Follow the instructions for the exact filter generation, including how to stop the water circuit and remove the housing. Never look at or operate an exposed UV-C lamp. Arrange a dry, stable working area with enough space to support the glass and the other parts as they are removed.

Take care when withdrawing the sleeve. Quartz is brittle, and pressure against a fitting or nearby pipework can damage it. Do not lever a stuck tube out with a screwdriver or force it through a seal. Refer to the manufacturer’s dismantling sequence if a component will not release as expected.

Cleaning, seals and reassembly

The Lotus Green Genie instructions describe removing the retaining fittings and O-rings before withdrawing the quartz. They also call for checking the tube and seals before reassembly. The exact access procedure differs between filter models, so use the instructions supplied with your own unit rather than assuming that every Lotus filter opens in the same way.

If cleaning an undamaged sleeve, use the method permitted by the equipment manufacturer and rinse it thoroughly as instructed. Avoid abrasive tools that could scratch the surface. Do not mix cleaning chemicals, and keep removed electrical components away from the cleaning area. Replace damaged seals with the correctly specified parts instead of attempting to compensate with extra tightening.

Fit the sleeve and seals in the correct order, checking that everything seats naturally. Stop if the replacement appears too long, too short or different at the sealing end. A nearly fitting tube is not an acceptable substitute. Complete the manufacturer’s leak checks and reassembly instructions before returning the UV equipment to normal use.
