These genuine Oase replacement quartz sleeves are for the older Bitron C clarifiers that use a straight, unflared sleeve. Choose part 13325 for the compatible Bitron C 18W or 24W assembly, or part 13326 for the compatible Bitron C 36W or 55W assembly. The exact part number and sleeve design matter: a Bitron model’s wattage alone does not identify every generation of quartz glass.

This listing deliberately separates the older without-rim parts from the later rimmed designs. If your existing glass has a flared rim at its open end, do not order one of these options simply because the wattage appears to match. Refer to the spare-parts diagram for your particular unit and compare the component before placing an order.

Oase’s older spare-parts catalogue identifies these references for the corresponding Bitron C models. Later units use different glass assemblies. Retailers describe the changeover by year in slightly different ways, so the part reference, shape and model diagram are more useful checks than an estimated purchase date. A second-hand unit may also have been bought well after it was manufactured.

What the quartz sleeve does

The quartz sleeve surrounds the UV-C lamp inside the clarifier. It separates the lamp assembly from the water while allowing the useful ultraviolet light to pass through. It is a service component of the complete unit, not a replacement lamp, ballast or complete water chamber. Replacing glass does not resolve a fault in another part of the electrical or hydraulic assembly.

Ordinary glass tubing is not an appropriate substitute. Select the correct manufactured spare rather than attempting to adapt a tube of approximately the same length. The way the open end seats and seals is as important as the overall dimensions. A similar-looking component from another Oase range can have a different rim, length or sealing arrangement.

Inspect before deciding what to replace

When clarity deteriorates, inspect the filtration system as a whole. Reduced pump flow, accumulated filter waste, an aged lamp and deposits on the quartz can each affect performance. The appearance of green water does not identify which component needs attention. Keep a record of lamp changes and cleaning so that planned servicing is based on the equipment’s condition and instructions.

A damaged sleeve needs replacement with the correct part. Handle glass carefully and do not put a cracked, chipped or visibly damaged component back into service. If deposits are present on otherwise sound glass, consult the unit’s cleaning instructions before deciding whether replacement is necessary. Avoid abrasive tools or methods that could scratch or damage the surface.

Plan the service safely

Isolate the clarifier and associated equipment from their electrical supply before opening the unit. Follow the original instructions for stopping water circulation and accessing the lamp and quartz assembly. Never operate an exposed UV-C lamp or look directly at it. Keep the work area dry and arrange a clean, stable surface for the removed parts.

Allow room to withdraw the glass without bending or forcing it against adjoining pipework. Note the position of seals and retaining components during dismantling, and inspect them as directed in the manual. This product supplies the selected quartz sleeve; do not assume that separate O-rings, a lamp or retaining parts are included. Order additional service components by their own references if they are needed.

Reassembly and return to use

Use the manufacturer’s sequence to seat the sleeve, seals and retaining assembly. Do not compensate for an incorrect part by adding improvised packing or tightening a retaining component excessively. If the replacement will not seat naturally in the prescribed arrangement, stop and recheck the part number, rim style and orientation before proceeding.

Complete the instructed water-circuit and leak checks before returning the UV system to normal operation. Watch the assembly during its first run and inspect the surrounding connections afterwards. A dry exterior at the first glance is not a substitute for following the full reassembly procedure, particularly where seals or electrical parts have been disturbed.
