AquaForte Landscaping Foam for Ponds and Waterfalls
AquaForte Landscaping Foam is a dark-grey expanding polyurethane foam developed for pond landscaping, waterfall construction and garden water features. It fills irregular voids between rocks, liner edges and structural surfaces, helping to guide water across the intended route while giving a much less conspicuous finish than ordinary bright yellow building foam.
The 500ml aerosol expands to produce up to approximately 15 litres of foam, so a single can can cover a surprising amount of detailed rockwork. Once cured, the dark colour blends naturally into shaded stonework and can be trimmed or shaped to tidy the finished installation.
Typical pond uses
- Filling visible gaps between waterfall and stream rocks.
- Supporting decorative stone around liner edges.
- Reducing unwanted routes behind rockwork so water follows the designed cascade.
- Finishing awkward landscaping voids around pond and water-feature construction.
Using landscaping foam successfully
Plan and dry-position the rockwork first. Surfaces should be stable, clean and suitable for the product. Apply the foam in controlled amounts because it expands during curing; adding several smaller beads is easier to manage than overfilling a large cavity. Allow the foam to cure fully before trimming exposed areas and before returning the feature to service.
Landscaping foam is a construction and finishing aid, not a replacement for a properly installed pond liner, structural support or a designed waterproof joint. Waterfalls should still be built so the liner provides the primary waterproof layer and catches any water that passes behind the visible stones. Wear suitable gloves and eye protection, work in a well-ventilated area and follow all safety and curing instructions printed on the can.
Choosing between foam and sealant
Use expanding foam where you need to fill larger irregular landscaping gaps. For bonding a liner or repairing a leak, choose a product designed for the exact liner material and application conditions. For a comparable black foam option, see Oase FoamFix Black.
