Closed-cell black expanding foam for stabilising rockwork and directing water through streams and cascades

Oase FoamFix fills the awkward cavities between rocks, liner and structural edges where water would otherwise disappear behind the visible cascade. Its fine, closed-cell structure does not absorb water, expands evenly and cures quickly. The cured foam remains black, including below the waterline, so any exposed edges are far less conspicuous than standard yellow builders’ foam.

The purpose is not to create a watertight pond from foam. Use a correctly installed liner or structural waterproofing first, then apply FoamFix to support selected stones and encourage water to travel over—rather than under—the finished rockwork. The cured product is highly UV resistant and Oase specifies it as compatible with pond plants and animals when used according to the instructions.

Using FoamFix neatly

1. Read the cartridge safety and temperature guidance.
2. Clean loose dust and organic material from the contact area.
3. Protect finished stone and liner from unwanted overspray.
4. Apply behind and between the selected rocks, allowing for expansion.
5. Let the foam cure fully before trimming or running water.
6. Hide exposed cured edges with gravel or small stone where appropriate.

Frequently asked questions

Is FoamFix a waterproof liner repair?

No. It directs water and fills voids around a properly waterproofed construction; it is not a substitute for repairing a punctured liner.

Does it stay black?

Oase describes it as highly UV resistant and formulated to retain a deep black appearance, including underwater.

Can it be used around fish?

Oase specifies the cured product for pond construction around flora and fauna. Follow the instructions and allow the product to cure before returning it to service.

Do I need the professional gun?

No. A simple applicator is included. The Pro-Applicator is worthwhile when flow control and repeated accurate work matter.
