Wet ‘R Dry 725 PVC Solvent Cement for Pond Pipework
Weld-On Wet ‘R Dry 725 is a fast-setting blue solvent cement for joining compatible PVC pipe and fittings. It is especially useful during pond construction and filtration alterations because it is formulated for use where prepared pipe surfaces may be dry, damp or wet. That makes it a practical choice for bottom-drain lines, filter bays, returns and other PVC pond plumbing where completely dry working conditions are difficult to achieve.
This is a solvent-weld cement rather than a gap-filling pond sealant. A reliable joint still depends on correctly cut pipe, a clean square end, a proper dry fit and full engagement into the fitting socket. Clean and prepare the mating surfaces, apply the cement evenly and assemble the joint promptly in accordance with the instructions on the tin.
Available sizes
- 240ml: convenient for a smaller installation, repair or a limited number of fittings.
- 500ml: better value for a new filter bay, larger pipework project or repeated workshop use.
Why use a dedicated PVC solvent cement?
- Fast-setting formula for compatible PVC pressure and drainage pipework.
- Suitable for properly prepared wet, damp or dry pipe surfaces.
- Blue colour makes coverage easier to see during assembly.
- Two tin sizes let you match the quantity to the job and reduce waste.
Preparation and application
Measure and dry-fit the installation before opening the cement. Deburr and chamfer cut pipe ends, remove dirt and grease, and use a compatible pipe cleaning fluid where the pipe system or cement instructions require it. Apply to both mating surfaces, push the pipe fully home with a slight turning action, hold the joint briefly to prevent push-out and remove excess cement. Do not disturb, pressure-test or commission the joint until the stated curing period has passed.
Wet ‘R Dry is not an underwater emergency patch and should not be used as a substitute for mechanical support or the correct fitting. Application limits, pipe diameter, pressure rating and cure time vary with temperature, humidity and the pipe system, so always follow the Weld-On label and the pipe manufacturer’s instructions.
