The Oase ProfiClear Premium XL Drum Filter Gravity Fed OC is a high performance self cleaning filtration system engineered for large scale koi ponds, ornamental ponds and commercial aquatic systems. It builds on the proven ProfiClear Premium platform while significantly increasing mechanical capacity. As a result, it delivers reliable debris removal in heavily stocked and high demand installations.

Designed for ponds up to 530,000 litres in ornamental applications and up to 100,000 litres in koi systems, this gravity fed module supports serious filtration requirements. Therefore, it is particularly well suited to estate ponds, large private koi ponds and professional aquatic projects where consistent water clarity is essential.

Intelligent Drum Filtration with Modular Expansion

At the centre of the system sits a 60 micron stainless steel drum screen. As water enters the gravity fed chamber, the screen captures solid waste, uneaten food and fine debris before it can reach the biological stages. Consequently, mechanical waste removal takes place immediately and efficiently.

When the screen begins to restrict flow, the integrated controller automatically activates the cleaning cycle. High pressure spray jets then rinse the screen surface and flush collected waste into a discharge channel. As a result, the system continues operating without manual intervention and without interrupting circulation.

The XL drum module handles flow rates between 25,000 and 66,000 litres per hour. In addition, it features seven inlets for connection to bottom drains, wall skimmers and up to two Oase Bitron Premium UVC clarifiers. Therefore, installation remains flexible and filtration performance can be optimised for larger systems.

Furthermore, the drum module integrates directly with the ProfiClear XL Moving Bed Module and Gravity Discharge Module. Consequently, users can build a complete high capacity filtration system tailored to pond size and stocking density. Finally, the heavy duty GRP Duroplast and stainless steel construction ensures long term durability in demanding environments.

Technical information

UV sizing and maintenance notes

Oase ProfiClear Premium XL Drum Filter – Gravity Fed OC should be matched to the pond volume, flow rate and water clarity problem you are trying to solve. UV clarification works best when water passes the lamp at a suitable speed and the quartz sleeve is kept clean. If the flow is too fast, contact time can be reduced. If the lamp is old or the quartz sleeve is dirty, performance can drop even when the unit still appears to be switched on.

• Replace UV lamps as part of routine seasonal maintenance.
• Clean or inspect the quartz sleeve when water clarity starts to deteriorate.
• Match the UV to the pump and filter rather than installing it in isolation.
• Allow safe access for lamp changes and winter maintenance.

Good UV performance also depends on mechanical filtration. Removing fine debris before the UV helps the lamp work on green water algae more effectively.
