The Filtreau Excellent magnetic contact with 5m cable is a replacement component for the Excellent drum-filter system. It serves the magnetic cover-protection arrangement, which works with the filter controller. Select this spare when the contact or its cable has been identified as needing replacement, and compare the existing connection and mounting arrangement before ordering.

How cover protection works

Filtreau’s Excellent manual describes a magnetic protection system that switches the control box off when the filter cover is removed. This is an important part of the filter’s operation around moving drum equipment and UV-C components. Retain the protection during maintenance and repairs; do not bypass the contact to operate the filter with its cover open.

The magnetic contact and the Excellent stainless steel float switch serve different purposes. The float responds to the water level, while the cover contact relates to the lid-protection circuit. Identifying the affected circuit helps you choose the correct replacement.

Cable routing and access

The supplied cable length is 5 metres. Measure the intended route along the equipment and supports, allowing for bends and access to the connection. Keep the cable clear of sharp edges, moving parts and places where the cover could trap it. Avoid pulling on the cable when disconnecting equipment or lifting a removable cover.

Before fitting, compare the original contact, cable end and mounting position with the required replacement. If you need help identifying the part, send us photographs of the filter label, existing contact and connector. These details are more useful than the filter’s approximate age alone.

Checking a suspected fault

A filter that does not restart with its cover correctly fitted needs a proper diagnosis. Record the controller’s behaviour and any other symptoms before switching the equipment off for inspection. Fitting and verification

Disconnect the electrical supply before changing connections or working inside the filter. Have electrical fault-finding and installation carried out by a suitably qualified person. Follow the filter manufacturer’s instructions for the positioning and checking of the cover-protection system, and confirm that it functions correctly before returning the filter to normal service.
