Oase SchlixX Plus is a high performance sludge reduction treatment developed for lakes, ponds, reservoirs and other self contained water bodies suffering from heavy organic build up and recurring algae problems. Over time, leaves, algae, plant waste, fish waste and nutrient rich run off settle on the lake bed. As this material accumulates, it forms a dense sludge layer that stores large amounts of phosphate.
Phosphate is one of the primary drivers of algae and blue green algae blooms. Therefore, as sludge depth increases, algae problems often become more persistent. At the same time, oxygen levels fall, water clarity declines and unpleasant odours may develop. SchlixX Plus has been engineered to address these issues at their source by working directly within the sediment layer.
How SchlixX Plus Conditions Sludge and Reduces Nutrients
SchlixX Plus releases oxygen into the sludge while introducing specially cultivated aquatic micro organisms. The oxygen loosens the compacted sludge structure. Consequently, beneficial micro organisms can digest organic material more efficiently.
As the sludge breaks down, phosphate is released. However, SchlixX Plus immediately binds this phosphate and converts it into insoluble apatite. Because algae cannot use apatite as a nutrient source, their growth becomes limited. Therefore, nutrient pressure reduces while long term water stability improves.
Each application continues working for up to 8 weeks. During this period, organic sludge volume gradually decreases and internal nutrient loading reduces. In many cases, visible sludge depth reduction occurs, which increases usable water volume and improves oxygen circulation.
SchlixX Plus provides a practical alternative to mechanical dredging. In many situations, it can reduce the need for disruptive sludge removal by a significant margin. One tonne of SchlixX Plus can break down up to 3000 cubic metres of organic sludge, making it a cost effective and environmentally responsible solution.
For structured lake management, SchlixX Plus works alongside OptiLake. While SchlixX Plus reduces sludge and internal nutrient release from sediment, OptiLake stabilises pH and water chemistry in the water column. Together, they support clear water, healthy fish, strong plant growth and long term ecological balance.
SchlixX Plus is suitable for lakes, fisheries, nature reserves, golf course lakes and larger ponds affected by sludge build up or recurring algae. It is safe for fish, wildlife and bathers when used correctly. For best results, apply when water temperatures are above 8 degrees Celsius.
