Oase PeriDox is a fast acting treatment developed for fish stocked ponds and lakes that require reliable parasite control alongside rapid oxygen enrichment. During warm periods and under high stocking densities, parasite pressure can increase quickly. As a result, fish may suffer from gill irritation, excess mucus production, reduced oxygen uptake and weakened immune response. In severe cases, untreated outbreaks can lead to widespread fish losses.
PeriDox provides an immediate and effective response while supporting overall water stability. As soon as the product is applied, an oxidation process begins. This process destroys the cell structure of parasites and their larvae on contact. Under normal conditions, parasite larvae can survive in water for 33 to 48 hours. However, when the correct PeriDox dosage is used, larvae are eliminated within approximately 3 hours.
Because adult parasites continue releasing new larvae, a single treatment is not sufficient to break the lifecycle. Therefore, PeriDox should be applied 3 to 4 times at the recommended interval to fully reduce parasite pressure and prevent reinfestation.
In addition to parasite control, PeriDox delivers immediate oxygen enrichment. During oxidation, oxygen is released directly into the water column. Consequently, dissolved oxygen levels rise rapidly. This makes PeriDox particularly valuable during warm weather, high organic loading, or when fish show signs of oxygen stress such as gasping at the surface.
Furthermore, PeriDox supports carbonate hardness, helping maintain more stable water chemistry during treatment. Stable parameters are essential when fish are already stressed, as sudden changes can worsen health issues and delay recovery.
PeriDox is classified as a non prescription biocide and leaves no harmful residues once the oxidation reaction is complete. When used correctly, it does not endanger fish or disrupt the wider ecosystem. However, it must only be used in isolated and self contained water bodies to ensure treatment remains controlled and effective.
PeriDox is particularly suited to fisheries, commercial ponds, heavily stocked lakes and managed aquatic systems where both parasite control and oxygen stability are critical.
