This sludge stores large amounts of phosphate, which fuels algae and blanketweed growth. As a result, water clarity declines, oxygen levels drop and unpleasant odours may develop. In addition, internal nutrient release from the sediment makes algae problems harder to control.
How SchlixX Reduces Sludge and Internal Nutrients
SchlixX works directly at the source of the issue. Instead of treating surface symptoms, it targets the sludge layer itself. Once applied, it releases oxygen directly into the sediment. This activates naturally occurring micro organisms, which then begin breaking down organic sludge more efficiently.
At the same time, SchlixX binds free phosphate released from the sludge and converts it into insoluble apatite. Because algae cannot use apatite as a nutrient source, their growth becomes limited. Therefore, the risk of recurring algae blooms reduces significantly.
SchlixX continues working for up to 8 weeks. During this period, it actively degrades organic sludge and reduces internal nutrient loading. As sludge volume decreases, usable water volume increases. Consequently, oxygen circulation improves and overall water quality stabilises.
This long term action makes SchlixX an effective alternative to mechanical dredging. In many cases, it can reduce the need for disruptive sludge removal by up to 90 percent.
SchlixX is suitable for ponds, lakes, reservoirs and fisheries. It is safe for fish, aquatic plants, wildlife and bathers. For best results, apply when water temperatures are above 8 degrees Celsius, as biological activity within the sediment layer increases naturally in warmer conditions.
