AlGo Greenaway is the specialist AquaActiv product for floating algae that colour pond water green. It is also specified as an alternative for persistent blue-green algae, making it different from products aimed chiefly at long strands of blanket weed.

Use it when the water itself is green and a water test, circulation check and UVC inspection support an algae diagnosis. It is not a substitute for replacing a failed UVC lamp or correcting inadequate flow through the clarifier.

How to use it responsibly

Confirm the actual pond volume and check the pack’s water-quality requirements. Apply the measured dose evenly with the filter and aeration arranged as instructed. Observe fish closely, and remove or filter the resulting dead organic material so it does not simply recycle nutrients.

• Use biocides safely. Always read the label and product information before use.
• Check the UVC lamp, quartz sleeve and real flow rate before relying on chemical treatment.
• Do not use it for an unidentified cloudy-water problem.
• Do not combine it with another algae treatment without explicit label approval.

Calculate the real water volume after allowing for shelves, stone, pipework and filter chambers. If fish are distressed, oxygen is low or the water values are unsafe, stabilise the system before carrying out non-essential cosmetic treatment. Always retain the batch label and follow the current pack instructions, because formulation and regulatory directions can change.

Its primary target is single-cell floating algae and green water. Long string algae is usually better matched to a product intended for direct filamentous growth.

Why is oxygen important?

Algae treatment and subsequent decomposition can increase oxygen demand, particularly in warm weather or heavily stocked ponds.
