Kockney Koi Fish Transport Bags in Full Packs

These clear Kockney Koi fish bags are supplied in full packs for customers who regularly need fish transport packaging. Choose the complete size and pack quantity together. A pack of smaller bags contains more individual bags than a pack of larger bags, so the number in the box is an important part of the choice.

The range uses a double-sealed base. The manufacturer identifies the sizes with different coloured labels and publishes a gauge for each option. This listing is for empty bags only. Fish, water, oxygen, securing bands and outer transport containers are not included. The photograph is the manufacturer’s range illustration, rather than a picture of the full quantity supplied.

Sizes, thickness and pack quantities

Bag size Quantity Gauge Our reference
6 × 15 inches 2000 bags 150 KK389
8 × 16 inches 2000 bags 150 KK391
10 × 20 inches 1000 bags 200 KK393
14 × 26 inches 500 bags 200 KK395
18 × 30 inches 250 bags 200 KK397
20 × 40 inches 250 bags 300 KK400

The measurements are in inches, not centimetres. They identify the bag size before filling and are not a stated water capacity. A bag needs room for the fish, the appropriate water and gas space, and a properly closed top. Its nominal length must not be treated as the maximum length of fish it can carry.

Gauge describes the film thickness within this range. Do not assume every size has the same gauge: the 6 × 15-inch and 8 × 16-inch bags are 150 gauge, the three intermediate options are 200 gauge, and the 20 × 40-inch option is 300 gauge. Select a suitable size and construction for the planned task rather than choosing only by the number of bags in the pack.

Who is a full pack useful for?

A full pack can be practical for an aquatic business, fish club, breeder or keeper with regular planned fish movements. It provides a supply of one consistently identified size. If you only need packaging for a single move, check the total quantity carefully before ordering: this is a bulk pack, not one individual bag.

Consider how many sizes you actually use. A large quantity of one small size may be less useful than having suitable packaging for the different fish you keep. Buying the largest bag does not by itself make a journey safe, and buying the thickest film does not remove the need for an appropriate outer container and careful preparation.

Plan the complete transport arrangement

A bag is one part of a fish transport system. Before moving fish, plan the receiving pond or tank, the journey, suitable containers, the handling equipment and the person responsible for the fish throughout. Make sure the receiving system is ready before the fish are caught. Avoid leaving bagged fish waiting while other equipment is located or the destination is prepared.

Transport requirements depend on the fish, loading, journey and environmental conditions. This product does not carry a universal fish-count, weight or journey-duration rating. Seek guidance appropriate to the actual move rather than interpreting the bag dimensions as a transport allowance. The pack quantity is a count of empty bags; it is not a statement about how many fish can be moved.

Check your planned securing method and any outer support before use. The closure should be suitable for the bag and task, and the outer container should protect the bag during handling. Keep sharp tools and other equipment away from the prepared bags. A double-sealed base is a construction feature, not a guarantee against damage elsewhere in the film.

Inspect and organise the bags before use

Open the outer pack carefully so that a knife or scissors cannot cut through the bags beneath it. Inspect each bag before use, paying attention to the base, sides and opening. Do not use a bag that is punctured, torn or otherwise damaged. Keep a supply of spare suitable bags available rather than planning around every piece in a pack being needed at once.

Keep the sizes clearly separated in storage. Retaining the pack label makes it easier to identify the dimensions and gauge when the bags are needed later. If bags are moved into another storage box, label that box accurately and keep it clean. Clear film alone is not a reliable way to distinguish otherwise similar sizes.

Storage and purchasing checks

Store unused bags clean, dry and protected from sharp objects, unnecessary heat and direct sunlight. Keep them away from pond treatments, cleaning chemicals and dirty handling equipment. Do not assume that a bag which has already carried fish is equivalent to a clean, unused bag for another movement; plan hygiene and disease precautions for your own fish and equipment.

Before ordering, check the bag dimensions, gauge, full-pack quantity and available storage space. The price is for the selected complete pack. No smaller repacked quantity is promised on this listing. If your task requires a different size or specification, choose that exact product rather than assuming a nearby size will be an appropriate substitute.

Related handling equipment

Plan the net, handling container and packaging together. Our Norfine 50cm koi net with a 1.2m wooden handle is one option to consider where its dimensions suit your setup; it is not a universal choice for every fish or transport task. Check the complete handling arrangement before purchasing, and keep movements calm, organised and appropriate to the fish involved.

For transfer equipment with a different role, compare our Norfine koi sock nets and Japanese watertight koi transfer socks. Check whether a particular sock retains water and how it is intended to be used; a transfer sock is not a sealed transport bag for a journey.

Our 6mm × 87mm elastic bands are available separately. Choose a closure appropriate to the bag and planned task. Neither securing bands nor the fish shown in the manufacturer’s illustrative photograph are included in these empty full-pack bags.
