Check reach as well as head size

The stated handle length is 1.2m; it is not a measurement of the complete assembled net. Compare that reach with the distance from your normal standing position to the area of the pond where you will use it. The 50cm head diameter should also suit the fish and the available working space.

Handling koi calmly

Guide the fish slowly with the net while keeping it supported in the water. Have the inspection bowl or transfer equipment ready before you begin. Avoid using a pan net as a sling to carry a fish above the water; use appropriate transfer equipment for moving between containers.
