In-Lite EVO HYDE 550 12V Linear Light

A 556mm shielded linear fitting that produces a wider, more continuous indirect wash beneath steps, benches, decking edges, balustrades and low walls.

EVO HYDE hides the LED source beneath an overhang so the eye sees the illuminated surface rather than a bright row of diodes. The result is both decorative and practical: it can define a change in level, make a seat wall easier to read after dark and add a calm line of light without turning the feature into a glare source.

Where EVO HYDE 550 works best

The black anodised aluminium body is slim enough to remain discreet under timber, natural stone and concrete details. Its 92° distribution gives a soft wash up to around 2.5m. Several fittings can be set end to end where a longer run needs an even rhythm, but it is worth testing the spacing after dark before every fixing position is drilled.

For the cleanest effect, install EVO HYDE beneath an overhang of approximately 50–60mm. Keep the fitting, cable exit and fixings accessible, and make sure the detail does not trap water around the light.

Choose between EVO HYDE 180 and EVO HYDE 550

This 550mm version is the longer fitting for a broad, continuous line of light. Choose In-Lite EVO HYDE 180 12V Linear Light where a shorter pool of light is more appropriate. Mixing the two sizes can work well, but keep the mounting height and setback consistent so the illuminated surfaces still read as one scheme.

Connection and transformer planning

The fitting is supplied with an EASY-LOCK for connection to genuine In-Lite CBL Two-Wire Garden Lighting System Cable. Add the VA value—not just the LED wattage—to the total circuit load when selecting a HUB. The In-Lite HUB-75 UK 12V Garden Lighting Transformer is one option for a modest circuit, although the correct transformer depends on the combined VA of every fitting and how the garden needs to be controlled.
