In-Lite AIM EXTRA LOW 160mm 12V Garden Spotlight is part of In-Lite’s modular AIM family: a discreet black 12V spotlight designed to put controlled, high-quality light exactly where a planting scheme or architectural detail needs it. This 160mm version combines the AIM light head, supporting tube and ground spike as one ready-to-connect fitting. Its slim form disappears into borders during the day, while the warm-white beam reveals foliage, texture and structure after dark.

It is particularly effective beneath low grasses, compact shrubs, sculptural leaves and at the front of a border where the light source should remain unobtrusive. The focused 35° beam reaches up to approximately 3.5 metres, so AIM is best treated as a precise accent light rather than a broad floodlight. The integrated honeycomb glare control helps keep the source comfortable when the fitting is viewed from a path, terrace or seating area.

Modular lighting that can grow with the planting

AIM is designed around a waterproof modular connection. The head can be rotated through 360° and the system can be expanded with additional compatible AIM light heads, allowing up to three heads to be arranged on one stem where a wider or layered effect is required. That makes it useful for gardens that need more flexibility than a fixed single-direction spotlight.

Push the spike into firm but free-draining ground and leave enough clearance around the head to adjust it after the planting has matured. Aim across a subject rather than straight at the viewer, and use two lower-output directions on a specimen tree when you want depth instead of a flat, over-bright result.

High colour quality for plants, stone and timber

The warm 3000K LED has a colour rendering index of CRI 90. In practical terms, leaves, flowers, bark, natural stone and timber remain much closer to their daytime colours than they would under a low-quality cool-white source. Each head produces 84 lumens while adding only 2.1VA to the transformer calculation, so several fittings can be combined without placing an unnecessarily heavy load on the system.

Installation and system planning

Connect the supplied EASY-LOCK to genuine In-Lite 12V cable, then attach the fitting using the push-fit connection. Position the main cable so the connector remains accessible beneath loose soil, gravel or planting mulch. Do not calculate a transformer from watts alone: add the stated VA rating for every fitting on the circuit and leave sensible capacity for future additions.

Choosing the right AIM height

Choose AIM EXTRA LOW at 160mm for low planting and concealed border lighting. AIM LOW at 400mm raises the source above groundcover and medium planting. The 800mm AIM version is best where the light needs to clear taller foliage or where the slim fitting is intended to become part of the planting composition.
