Additional equipment connections for an Excellent drum-filter control system
The Filtreau Excellent Power Distributor adds equipment connections to an existing Excellent drum-filter control system. It is useful when planning the electrical layout around a compatible filter and its connected pond pumps or UV-C units. Select this distributor for the Excellent system and check the connections against your existing equipment before ordering.

Four additional sockets
Filtreau’s Power Distributor manual describes four additional sockets for pond pumps and UV-C units. It also shows separate mains-supply and controller connections. The control connection must plug into the pond-pump socket on the Excellent controller, labelled 1D in the manual. The manufacturer specifically warns against using another controller socket for this connection.

Working with the filter’s protection system
The distributor follows the connected control system’s protective switching. Filtreau describes operation alongside the magnetic filter-cover protection and the controller’s prolonged-flushing protection. When flushing protection puts the controller into fault mode after five minutes, a manual controller reset is required before the distributor switches on again. Investigate the reason for a fault before resetting the system.
Planning the installation
Make a list of the equipment you intend to connect, including the model and electrical rating shown on each device. Have the installer check that the proposed loads, connectors and electrical protection suit the distributor and the existing installation. Four available sockets should not be treated as permission to connect any four devices without checking their requirements.
Position equipment so its controls remain accessible for routine maintenance. Allow enough space to identify each connection and remove a plug without pulling on its cable. Labelling the cables by the equipment they serve can make later servicing easier, especially where several pumps or UV-C units are installed close together.
Disconnect the electrical supply before changing connections. Arrange electrical installation and fault-finding through a suitably qualified person, and follow the instructions supplied with the filter, distributor and connected equipment.
Checking the system after installation
Before returning the pond to normal operation, confirm that each connected device is operating as intended and that water is circulating through the correct filter and return routes. Observe the filter during a cleaning cycle and check the installation using the manufacturer’s commissioning procedure. Keep the instructions and a record of the equipment connected to each outlet with your pond maintenance information.
