Evolution Aqua EazyPod Grey
Compact Mechanical and Biological Pond Filtration
The Evolution Aqua EazyPod Grey is a compact yet highly effective mechanical and biological filtration system designed for smaller koi ponds, ornamental ponds and water gardens. Because it uses proven K1 Micro media technology, it delivers reliable solid waste removal while maintaining stable biological performance in a simple, easy to manage unit.
For pond owners where space is limited, the EazyPod Grey offers professional style filtration without the complexity of larger drum systems. As a result, it suits small to medium koi ponds, quarantine systems and decorative garden ponds that require dependable water clarity with straightforward maintenance.
Unlike traditional foam box filters, the EazyPod separates solids efficiently before they break down inside the system. Consequently, it helps maintain clearer water and more stable parameters when correctly sized.
How the Evolution Aqua EazyPod Grey Works
First, water enters the outer chamber of the EazyPod, where heavier solids settle naturally at the base of the unit. At the same time, the circular flow pattern encourages efficient separation of waste.
Next, water passes through a stainless steel grill that traps larger debris before entering the central chamber.
Inside the centre chamber, 18 litres of static K1 Micro media perform two essential roles:
- Mechanical filtration by capturing fine suspended solids
- Biological filtration by providing surface area for beneficial bacteria
Because the media remains static during normal operation, it traps debris effectively while still allowing strong bacterial colonisation.
Finally, clean water rises through the return pipe and flows back to the pond.
When cleaning is required, you activate a 70 litres per minute air pump to vigorously agitate the K1 Micro media. As the media churns, it releases trapped waste. You can then flush this debris out through the integrated sludge drain. Therefore, the cleaning cycle remains simple, fast and does not require dismantling the unit.
The EazyPod Grey can operate in both pump fed and gravity fed configurations. This flexibility allows it to integrate into a wide range of pond layouts.

Practical setup advice
Before ordering, think about how this product fits into the full pond setup. Compatibility, maintenance access, pipe or hose size and future servicing are often just as important as the headline specification. A product that is technically suitable can still disappoint if it is installed with restricted flow, poor access or the wrong supporting equipment.
Where possible, plan the main product and the accessories together. This makes installation neater, maintenance easier and the final system more reliable over time.
Maintenance and compatibility checks
It is worth checking the supporting parts at the same time as the main product. Hose size, pressure pipe, valves, unions, UV units, filter inlets, air manifolds, spares and cleaning access can all affect how well the final system works. A correctly matched installation usually performs better and is easier to maintain than one built from parts chosen separately.
- Match the pump flow to the filter and pond volume, allowing for head height and pipework losses.
- Keep unions, valves and waste outlets accessible for cleaning and maintenance.
- Use suitable hose, pressure pipe or DN discharge pipework where specified by the manufacturer.
- Check compatible UV bulbs, quartz sleeves, media and spare parts before the pond season starts.
Plan this product as part of the complete filtration layout, rather than as an isolated item. Check the recommended flow rate, inlet and outlet sizes, waste connection, access for cleaning and the space needed for routine servicing before installation. A well matched filter system is easier to maintain and gives more reliable water clarity over the long term.
