Evolution Aqua EazyPod Automatic UV Grey
Fully Automated Self Cleaning Pond Filtration with Integrated UV
The Evolution Aqua EazyPod Automatic UV Grey is a fully automated mechanical and biological pond filtration system designed to reduce hands on maintenance while maintaining excellent water clarity. Built around proven EazyPod static K1 technology, this model adds an integrated control box, automated waste valve and built in 18W UV clarifier.
As a result, it delivers reliable solids removal, stable biological performance and consistent green water control without the need for manual cleaning. Designed for garden ponds up to 20000 litres and koi ponds up to 10000 litres, it offers a practical solution for pond keepers who want dependable filtration with minimal intervention.
Unlike the standard EazyPod models, the Automatic UV version initiates cleaning cycles independently. Therefore, it continues to maintain performance even when you are away from home.
How the Evolution Aqua EazyPod Automatic UV Works
First, pond water enters the outer chamber where heavier solids naturally settle at the base. This initial settlement stage reduces stress on the central filtration chamber.
Next, water passes through a stainless steel grill that traps larger suspended particles before reaching the media.
Inside the centre chamber, 18 litres of static K1 media perform two essential roles:
- Mechanical filtration by capturing fine suspended solids
- Biological filtration by supporting nitrifying bacteria that convert ammonia and nitrite
At the same time, the integrated 18W UV clarifier neutralises algae spores and reduces green water.
When the cleaning cycle activates, the integrated control box automatically opens the waste valve and drains dirty water. Immediately afterwards, the internal air pump agitates the K1 media, dislodges trapped debris and flushes waste out through the outlet. Once complete, the unit returns to normal filtration mode.
Because the timer is adjustable, you can customise cleaning frequency to suit stocking levels and feeding rates.
This model is designed primarily for pump fed installations.

Practical setup advice
Before ordering, think about how this product fits into the full pond setup. Compatibility, maintenance access, pipe or hose size and future servicing are often just as important as the headline specification. A product that is technically suitable can still disappoint if it is installed with restricted flow, poor access or the wrong supporting equipment.
Where possible, plan the main product and the accessories together. This makes installation neater, maintenance easier and the final system more reliable over time.
Before you order
Check the product size, connection details, access requirements and the equipment it will be used with. On ponds, the surrounding system often decides how well the product performs. Suitable pump flow, clean filters, correctly sized hose or pipework, good access for servicing and realistic maintenance all help the product work as intended.
Maintenance and compatibility checks
It is worth checking the supporting parts at the same time as the main product. Hose size, pressure pipe, valves, unions, UV units, filter inlets, air manifolds, spares and cleaning access can all affect how well the final system works. A correctly matched installation usually performs better and is easier to maintain than one built from parts chosen separately.
Aeration setup notes
Evolution Aqua EazyPod Automatic UV – Grey should be chosen as part of the complete air system, not just by litres per minute. Airline length, airline bore, diffuser depth, manifold taps and back pressure all affect the real airflow that reaches the pond or filter. A well matched aeration system runs more quietly, puts less strain on the pump and gives more dependable oxygen support.
- Use suitable airline size for the pump output and distance involved.
- Keep the air pump dry, ventilated and protected from flooding.
- Spread airflow across multiple diffusers on larger ponds where possible.
- Check diaphragms, filters and diffusers during routine servicing.
For koi ponds, moving bed filters and warm weather aeration, consistent airflow is often more useful than simply oversizing the pump. Balanced diffuser placement gives better circulation and helps avoid stagnant areas.
