Cloverleaf Absolute Bio Pearls

Drop-in beneficial bacteria for filters, ponds and smaller aquatic systems

Cloverleaf Absolute Pearls combine nitrifying bacteria with bioactive enzymes inside a biodegradable delivery ball. The culture is intended to support the conversion of ammonia and nitrite while the enzymes help break down organic waste such as uneaten food, dead algae and settled debris.

Choose the 75 small 18mm pearls for aquariums and small ponds, where individual doses can be matched to a modest volume. Choose the three 50mm pond pearls for normal and large garden ponds; each large pearl treats up to 20,000 litres.

What this product is designed to do

  • Beneficial nitrifying bacteria and bioactive enzymes in a slow-release format.
  • Supports recovery from ammonia and nitrite spikes while the underlying cause is corrected.
  • Helps reduce the accumulation of organic waste in ponds and filters.
  • Two formats cover small aquariums through to large koi ponds.
  • Simple drop-in application without measuring a liquid or loose powder.

How to use it well

  1. Select the correct pearl size for the water volume.
  2. Place the required number in the biological filter or directly in strong pond flow.
  3. Keep circulation and aeration operating.
  4. Test ammonia and nitrite during new-system start-up or after any filter disruption.
  5. Repeat only at the interval stated on the current pack.

Always calculate the real water volume and follow the current label supplied with the product. Pond volumes should allow for shelves, stonework, filter chambers and pipework. Never increase a treatment dose simply because the water has not changed as quickly as expected.

Important checks before use

  • A bacterial product cannot correct severe overstocking or inadequate filter capacity.
  • Do not expose the culture to untreated chlorinated tap water.
  • Green water needs correctly sized UV clarification and filtration; these pearls are not a direct green-water treatment.
  • Store the product in accordance with the pack directions and use before its expiry date.

Test water before treating. Ammonia and nitrite should be zero in a mature stocked pond, while pH and KH should be stable. Treatments can support a sound system, but they cannot compensate for inadequate circulation, oxygen, filtration or excessive feeding.

Unexpected ammonia or nitrite is an emergency signal, not simply a reason to add more bacteria. Stop or reduce feeding, increase oxygen, verify circulation and make controlled dechlorinated water changes as the test results require.

Frequently asked questions

How much does one large pearl treat?

One 50mm pond pearl treats up to 20,000 litres; the three-pack covers up to 60,000 litres.

What are the small pearls for?

The 18mm pearls are intended for aquariums and small ponds, with 75 treating up to 1,875 litres in total.

Can they go directly in the pond?

Yes, but the biological filter is often the better position because it provides flow, oxygen and protected colonisation surfaces.

Will they clear green water?

They may support general water quality, but suspended green algae is normally managed with a correctly sized and maintained UV clarifier.

Do they replace a mature filter?

No. They support bacterial populations but do not replace correctly sized biological media, oxygen and time.
