Blagdon MiniPond fountain pumps for smaller garden ponds
The Blagdon MiniPond range is built for pond owners who want one compact submersible pump to create a fountain display while keeping the water moving. Choose from the 700, 900, 1600 and 2000 models according to the display, lift and any secondary flow you need—not simply the headline number on the box.
We particularly like MiniPond pumps for small ornamental ponds because the kits include the parts needed to create a proper fountain rather than leaving you to assemble a collection of mismatched fittings. The exact heads and control fittings vary by model, so the comparison table and “what is supplied” information should be checked before ordering.
Compare the MiniPond models
| Model | Maximum flow | Power | Maximum head | Cable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 700 | 700 ltr/hr | 10w | 1.25m | 10m |
| 900 | 900 ltr/hr | 18w | 2m | 10m |
| 1600 | 1600 ltr/hr | 24w | 1.8m | 10m |
| 2000 | 2000 ltr/hr | 48w | 2.2m | 10m |
Maximum flow is measured under low-resistance test conditions. Once water is lifted through a fountain stem, hose, bend or filter, the delivered flow will be lower. If the display is important, allow useful capacity in reserve and do not reduce the pump immediately into unnecessarily narrow hose.
Fountain display, filter and waterfall use
The smaller models are well suited to a straightforward fountain in a compact pond. The larger MiniPond kits add more flexible flow-control and display options, making them a better choice when some water also needs to feed a small filter, waterfall or feature. Dividing one modest pump between too many duties produces a disappointing fountain and weak filtration, so choose the model for the complete circuit.
What arrives with the pump
Depending on the selected model, the official packs include fountain heads, extension pipes, hose adaptors, flow-control parts and a pre-filter foam. The 2000 model has the most extensive display and secondary-outlet equipment in this group. Open the model selector above to see the exact model and price, then use the technical table to compare the duty.
Installation advice from a pond specialist
- Place the pump on a stable base above loose silt so the intake does not immediately fill with debris.
- Set the fountain head level; a tilted stem gives an uneven display and can throw water outside a small pond.
- Keep the pump fully submerged and never allow it to run dry.
- Use the widest practical hose when feeding a filter, waterfall or separate feature.
- Clean the pre-filter when the fountain height or flow begins to drop rather than waiting for the pump to stop.
MiniPond, MidiPond or InPond?
Choose MiniPond for a compact fountain-led installation. Move up to the Blagdon MidiPond range when you need a larger fountain pump with more capacity and display options. Choose the Blagdon InPond range when you want filtration, pump, UVC and fountain functions combined inside the pond.
