Blagdon MidiPond fountain pumps for larger displays and secondary flow
Blagdon MidiPond pumps sit above the compact MiniPond range and are intended for more substantial ornamental ponds. Each kit combines a submersible pump with adjustable fountain equipment, five display-head styles, interchangeable hose fittings and flow control for a practical, tidy installation.
The range is a good fit when a decorative fountain is the main job but you also want useful flow for a small waterfall, feature or filter. As with every pond pump, the real output depends on lift, pipe bore and resistance, so compare the complete system rather than choosing from pond volume alone.
Compare the MidiPond 3500, 4500, 5500 and 6500
| Model | Official maximum flow | Power | Cable |
|---|---|---|---|
| 3500 | 3,412 ltr/hr | 47w | 10m |
| 4500 | 4,400 ltr/hr | 75w | 10m |
| 5500 | 5,360 ltr/hr | 100w | 10m |
| 6500 | 6,350 ltr/hr | 135w | 10m |
The model names are rounded range names; the table uses Blagdon’s current official flow data. This is why, for example, the MidiPond 3500 is shown with an official maximum flow of 3,412 litres per hour.
Five fountain-display choices
Blagdon supplies the MidiPond kits with Daisy Jet, Two Tier Daisy Jet, Bell Jet, Triple and Foam Jet heads. That makes it possible to change the character of the display without replacing the pump. The adjustable telescopic extension helps set the head at water level, while the T-piece and control valve let you balance the fountain against a secondary outlet.
How to select the right model
- Measure the vertical distance from the pond surface to the highest point of the return.
- Allow for hose length, bends, valves and any filter or feature connected to the secondary outlet.
- Decide whether the fountain must remain strong while the second outlet is open.
- Choose the larger model when a wide foam jet, raised return or long hose run is important.
Maintenance and winter care
Keep the intake and pre-filter foam clean, particularly during spring algae growth and autumn leaf fall. A gradual loss of fountain height is usually an early sign that the foam, impeller or pipework needs attention. Isolate the circuit safely before lifting the pump and follow the official manual when opening the housing.
Complete the installation
For a smaller display compare the Blagdon MiniPond range. For an integrated filter and UVC compare Blagdon InPond. Replacement foam is available as the Blagdon MidiPond filter foam set.
